Default When will Pickens announce?

I have been seeing T. Boone Pickens commercials for the last week or 2.

He supposedly has the answer to our fuel problems.

He is an oil man.

He is a friend of W.

He is far right conservative Republican.

He will present his ideas over the next few weeks. (per the commercials)

Anyone else seeing this as the start of a campaign?

It is a given that the far right does not like McCain, so I wonder if Pickens will be the 3rd party horse run in this race. Will he be the spoiler that the W supporters will be asked to elect?

I agree that we need to find something to replace oil.
I agree that we should take better advantage of wind power.
But I don't think going to natural gas for all transportation is the best long term solution.

Eventually we'll start using all that up and will have to find something else.

But whats wrong with adding it to the mix? It might not be the end solution but if we can cut back imports as other means are being developed isnt that a good thing?

The big problem I see is too many people say this wont work or that wont work. Nobody wants to make something work. Doing nothing sure as hell ain't working.
