what kind of truck? i have a couple tools for this. are you replacing the pin itself? most of the time there are two locking tabs with nuts one facing toward front of truck and one toward the rear. what ever you do make sure not to mushroom the in you will play hell getting it out. are you rebuilding everything?

Yes, replacing the pin.. I have one nut on the front, but its on a stud, so I don't know what it does by loosening it

you have to drive it out there should be two. use a brass punch to remove it unless your kit came with new ones.the kingpins themselves have areas were these pins sit in.once you have those out i made a simple tool for doing this but you can use a big punch to knock these out. if you run into any trouble let me know

Center the punch on the stud? It looks smooth, no groove.

There was so much grease on the back I didn't see the back of the pin

Every time I've done them I had to get them pressed out. W4's are great trucks if you don't break them then it's off to Rinkie to get ass rapped on parts.

When i've done king pins on ford axles like that i always had to pull the assembly out and take it to a big ass press and have it pressed out

Yes I have pissed them off alot to. We have a GMC box with and Isuzzu I hate the thing but........ the boss got a deal on it It spends alot of down time
