Default Hahaha...I love my workplace

This is an e-mail I just received from our secretary:

Subject: Office Supplies

"Due to budgetary concerns, the ordering of office supplies will be restricted for the remainder of the current fiscal year. The following procedures will be implemented:

For **** staff - if you need supplies from the supply room, you must make your request in writing to either **** or myself. Items will be retrieved from the supply room and forwarded to you. (Emailing your request is fine). The chances of replenishing office supplies are very slim. Emergencies only.I encourage all staff members to fully utilize what you already have at your desk before requesting additional supplies.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me."

I'm hiding all my supplies

I hope it's fiscal year, then it would be October, but if it is our contract year or planning year, then that just began in July through next June :) I know the secretary wrote fiscal, but she's half braindead...so you never know.

P.S. Don't request pics of secretary, pic would not fit on the screen.

its a bit different in my case tho because we run out of the same thing everyday, and out stock replenishes everyday. people are too lazy to accually go to the supply closet to get more so they just look ealsewhare. so i hide what i have

Why not just wait until your pen runs and then sit there with your thumb up your butt?

"the gangs took over the break rooms and copy stations. man began to kill man for paperclips and post-it notes ready to wage war over a pen with ink"

LOL!

buy your own office supplies when they run out and ask for reimbursement.

Our company keeps all office supplies locked up at all times, and you have to ask the right people to get them to unlock the cabinet, hand you the requested supplies, and watch them lock it again.

Funny thing is, we had a $4,000 prototype caliper stolen, which we leave out on open shelving for everyone to access, but pens, we better gaurd those.

I would write a long request right now for every conceivable thing you might need for the next 3 months. Then double it so you can trade your stash for cookies.

Default same here

We have to submit a request form and have it approved. Before we get anything. It is a 2-3 day process.

I work for the stupid Gov't, and once we ran out of paper for 2 months. It was like a desolate work camp. People would walk around, hanging there head, upset for the absence of paper. Supervisors would longingly look at the printers and sigh... One person bought her own papaer, and they killed her for her stash... The secretary ordered some paper, and when her boss realized she ordered it and we where under funds, he beat her... and made her send the paper back.

Seriously, when we ran out of paper, and couldn't order any because we were too close to the start of FY2008, it was really odd. Mood swings were on the rise becasue of no paper... funny how everyone thinks office supplies are free.

The tight asses i work for have yet to get us any decent supplies. I work for a lumber company with 5 guys in the yard. We have maybe three clipboards to use between the five of us.When we build delivery orders we have to hold the paperwork on the forklift with whatever is available. If the stick does not hold it,use the rock.If it's really windy use the tin snips. I have been asking for more for the last year.If i could buy a million for a penny I still would not buy my own. I can imagine myself screaming for clipboards in a padded room somewhere within the next year.
