You under estimate me.... Im sneeky sneeky..
But theres opening on the other side of the frame and there are fish plates and other braces for where I cut open the trailer.

the last thing I would ever do is cut a main rail on a trailer.... the ramps are added length wise in the deck and across the deck mounted below the rails for a reason.... the only way I woudl even think about that is if the side rails were over 6" tall...

show a picture of where you cut the main rails.... my guess is that it's not strong enough.... do some FEA on a simple cross section of the ramp cutout in the main rail, you will be suprized at what the vertical rail really does.

Well rail is 6in tall and its 3/8" thick than theres a 1/4" fish plate inside and out.. I would agree that if there was constant weight on it it would fail. But both vehicles rear tires are 2 ft in front of the cut out still and I added my 2x4 tube i had left over to place infront of the section I cut out between the left and right rails. The suspension mounts are also 3 feet in front of the cut out so that wont be an issue. So really I think it will be just fine.

Edit:
And maybe I should restate.. I didnt cut a whole section just a "window" 2.5" x 12.5" out of a 6" x .375" stock

And for some FEA on the cross section

With Cut out and fish plate.
Factor of saftey: 1.72
Under stress movement max: .5mm

Standard piece:
Factor of saftey: 3.99
Under stress movement max: .46mm

These were under 3500 lb loads because I highly dought I am going to be placing 7000 lbs (trailer max) on this one section of the rail at one time. SO I think it will be fine, I know I am not a engineer but my dad who is and I are both pretty confident that its not going to be an issue. And the factor of saftey means anthing under 1 is failure for those who dont understand that term.

First off this is coming from someone who drove their s10 with 2 body mount bolts holding the body to the frame and wheeling the snot out of it.
Next, I think that this trailer holding a 2500 LB jeep wont be an issue when it is 3 Ft away from where the window opening is.. So it will be fine. I am not worried about it. For the price it was worth it.

Default Update 5/1

Alright now that I have almost finished the trailer and the Willies. I got to do some work on mine last night. Although its nothing super huge but it was a step forward. Heres my design for the rear axle shock tabs.
.250" plate at the back that rolls down the axle tube
.150" plate for the front that tie in it into the axle link mount

Default Updates

My work from the weekend.
I still need to come up with a design for the upper mounts on the axle mount for gussets so when I do the gears I will do something there.

Default Another Update

Got the engine in but the exhaust is going to be a fun one so I am trying to plan it out now before I go any further. So that also means I get to bring in the tub tonight and see if I cant find somewhere to place the exhaust.

But heres some pictures.
