What are you doing at the top of the shock hoops to support them from flexing left/right?

I tried to cut the least i could. But i want to be able to remove the body off the chassis. I plane to use that big ass sheet of .064" sheet of steel in my garage for making the new panels and i have a bead roller to make it rigid and so on..

So you think to notch the frame.... Im going to have to make some calculations to see how far i need to goo. I tihnk when the link hits the frame i still have under 1.5" of shaft showing. So ill see what amount needs to goo.

I am either going to tie it into the cage or run a spreader bar between them. what I am thinking is that I am going to run the spreader bar between and add a removable panel from the bar to the floor and use that as a compartment for straps and stuff than on the other side have the fuel cell and tool storage.

notch the frame and plate both sides with .120" about 6" on each side of the cutout... the cage will help stiffen it up so you dont have to worry TOO much about the weaker strength of the shorter cross section...

I would notch the frame. The forces from the suspension are transfered to the link mounts on the frame. You basically need to support the weight of the back half of the rig. With the way it is plated and the addition of the cage tieing it together you shouldn't have any issues.

STOOOOP! DON'T NOTCH THE FRAME!

Just cut a whole section out instead. You don't really need it.

Okay had some good/bad news yesterday...
Good: Got my ballistic diff covers

Bad:

In the pictures you will see the body mounts. the 2 front most are ok just need a tap ran threw the mounts. The far most rear (back half section) mounts for the body are ok.
ALL the rest only 4, are broken. 1 spun the nut inside the body mount the other rusted the ENTIRE sheet metal away so that when i tried taking off the bolt it spun all around with the SHEET METAL PART OF THE BODY...ie- broken body mounts..Ohhh and to add I built my tube fenders for my ganster lean body so now those are garbage. SWEEET

SO to fix this small problem i have a few options.

A) Buy a new/ southern used tub....Like this idea
B) Try to patch the holes and run it
C) Use the existing tub and mount it correct to the frame with the good mounts and make new mounts with a better/ more easlily repairable mounting setup.. (take a peice of 1/8in plate along the channel for the body mounts and do a cage tie instyle mount).

All of these ideas will have to include new front fenders which im thinking of doing this..

I say repair the body your planning on beating the crap out of it anyway.... I even have a plasma cutter to sell you to help with the job too. I will be posting it for sale next week. Would even work out a trade for those 39.5" tires you got there....
