Default LJ daily driver

Bought a salvage LJ yesterday from Daveys Jeeps. Going to fix it up to be my nice weather daily driver. Yes I'm stupid but I'm happy.

It's an 04 LJ, 83k miles, 0 rust! Has a 4" pro comp lift, rolling on TJ rubicon wheels and 285's.

Was in a light roll over, so it needs a new tcase, windshield, front fenders, a top and a new axle lower control arm mount welded on.

Not planning on a hard core build, just a fun & simple DD/light offroad toy.

Enjoy and flame on!

Nice start Andy, I like it.
Having an LJ myself, I like it better than any TJ I previously had.

I dove into this some yesterday, the passenger side cowl is pushed in by less that 1/2", this will need to be pulled out in order to put on a windshield, top and door.

Next is to look over the front axle and see if it's still square. The lca mount on the drivers side is ripped off and the upper link is twisted.

Not flaming but...... Why take a rolled, bent, salvage LJ and make it into a daily driver? You wont get the cowl straight, all the suspension mounts are not going to be aligned correctly, etc. If you ever had a worthy offroad project, this is it.

Got a guy lined up to pull out the tub, need to get the tcase removed and replaced and repair the front axle. If anyone has any stock front control arms, let me know.

The body damage is very minimal and there isn't any reason why it cannot be pulled out. The frame does not present any signs of damage, not saying there isn't the possibility of any there but the body should present more damage in my opinion. I don't have any doubts that this jeep can be brought back where it needs to be.

This LJ works within my budget, a non-wrecked comparable would easily be around 12.5k, I don't want to spend that for a 1/2 year use vehicle.

Pulled the broken tcase out last night, rust free vehicles are a gift from the little brown baby Jesus. Think it took me 30 minutes to pull everything with basic tools. Only surprise I ran into was discovering the rubber trans mount needs to be replaced.

I ordered the replacement lower control arm mounts, I'm thinking about pulling the front axle out from under the Jeep while doing this to make life easier. I need to pull the upper control arms and shocks due to being damaged anyway.

Pulled the front axle out last night, will make life easier to replace the lower control arm mounts.

I am looking for a set of 4 factory TJ front control arms, uppers and lowers that are in good shape.

It's lifted, why not throw some decent aftermarket adjustable arms on there while you're at it? It's only money, they print more everyday.
