Default Where to get red and green light bulbs with the small base (NOT XMAS LIGHTS)

I have some ship nav lights from a scrapped great lakes freighter that I am turning into mood lighting for my apartment. They have clear lenses and used to have a colored glass panel behind the lens. I need to find some 25watt or larger red and green bulbs that will provide vivid color. They need to be 120v and have the small screw type base.

Any ideas where to get some at?? All the stores I have been to only have orange and blue and Xmas lights just wont cut it.

Red and green mood lighting? Are you having an affair with Mrs. Claus?

And for those saying fag; these are nav lights from a retired and scrapped Great Lakes Freighter that is historically significant. The lenses are two feet tall, by a foot wide, and have a black steel L piece to block the light from the rear. I have made a nice mahogany base and table top for them, and they will be used as decorative end tables for my livingroom with accent lights in them.

I need the lights to be about 25 watt because I dont want them to be too overpowering. Since I dont have the colored glass sheaths (I only have the clear outer lens for both of them) I need bulbs with a transparent red and a transparent green color to them.

Personally I think they are going to make some very kick ass end tables while adding a bit of color and mood to an otherwise bland white apartment.

Cool!

Where did you run accross these lights? I'd like a set.

IMO: Go to the local hardware store, buy/swap out the sockets to an edison base (normal size).

I could make an led array on my own, but I want it to be a softer more diffused light, and dont want to put much time into it at the moment.

Heading out to menards to check.

You would get along great with my friend Matt. He is a Great Lakes freighter historian/photographer/etc. He has a chunk of the hull of a great lakes freighter.

Menards didnt have shit. They had colored flourescents and halogens, but nothing that I can use a dimmer switch with and they didnt have any of the larger size sockets.

I did end up buying puck lights for under my cabinets in the kitchen though.
