Default Used boats ? ? ? and more ???'s

I'm thinking about buying a boat.

What should I look for?

I have about $10g to go towards a boat and with the price of fuel they seem to be "flooding" the market

I'm looking for something fun with atleast a stabbin cabin.

Make sure it is dry and not full of rot.

Mercury outdrives are easier to find parts for then OMC or yamaha.

Outboards are about equal in reliability if you go that route.

10 grand could buy a lot or a little depending on what you are looking for.

Depends on what you want to do. I would personally get around a 20' cuddy cabin. That is small enough to still trailer around pretty easily, has room to sleep, can be used on smaller lakes, and if you use your head, is just fine on the big water.

X2 on the Merc outdrive, I would look for at least a 6cyl in that size boat.

i had a 21' cuddy cabin, OMC sterndrive with a 350, like jeepr said that size is nice cuz you can still trailer it easily where ever you want to go, plus it is ok on the bigger water

had mine on the chesapeke bay, on the atlantic, and on the potomac river in what seemed like a monsoon (4-5 foot swells) little hairy, but she handled it ok and was a lot of fun!

loved that boat, always was a blast......also loved the day I got rid of it

good luck on your search

You're willing to spend $10K?

I have a paddleboat that will fit that budget if you're interested.

I'll give it some thought

It'll be on the Ohio river and the lakes around here. I was looking at 18' - 24' cabin.

I was also looking a 22' Baja with a 502 for just a little more money

please explain this hard on you all have for sunsation boats please? there are other boats out there with way less gay names as well or better built.. as for the price cap find a 20-23 footer with a 305 or 350 prefer a bravo drive or newer gen Alpha drive, outboards are fine but you dont know how well the last guy took care of it, and you cant go to napa or autozone on a sunday and get parts for it like you can a 350... not that I condone such things since they normally arent marine parts but you can get back out on the water and not wait for the stealership to open up and rape you
