Default 98 XJ fs-MUST GO, taking offers!

I think I am going to sell my XJ. I still really want a TJ and it wont stop bugging me. I am going to continue working on the XJ until then though.

1998 XJ Sport w/Factory Up-Country Package
Full power w/cruise
4.0L HO/AX15/NP231 156K but you'd never know it.

Recent Tune up (Plugs, cap/rotor, coolant F&F, oil/filter, rear U Joints, wiper blades)
Runs excellent. Drives/Handles Excellent. Small driveline vibes, but nothing bad. NO DEATHWOBBLE or PULLING

70+ mph on the Eway with no problems. Excellent DD and wheeler!

EVERYTHING works. wipers, blinkers, horn, locks, windows, etc.

Dana 30 Front
Chrysler 8.25 Rear w/Trac Lock

3.5" Rubicon Express SuperFlex w/full leafs
RE Quick Discos
3/4" Daystar BB in the front
Pro Comp Shocks
Pro Comp Steering stabalizer
4 degree shims
Black Rock crawlers
31x10.5/15 BFG Mud Terrains
Only 250 miles on suspension and wheels and tires!

K&N Air filter
DynaMax Muffler
Home Brew front bumper w/stinger
9000# winch
Home Brew roof rack
Home Brew rock sliders
Infinity system w/Stock CD player
Replaced infinity speakers with Alpine
Custom Paint

Right now, the front flares are off. I have them if you want them. I am planning on putting TJ flares on it this weekend and cutting the fenders so it could run 33's. I just painted the front. There is still some sticky stuff from removing the side molding. I am working on that.

The muffler is kinda crappy. I am planning on replacing it in the next week or so.

I am not yet certain on a price but will post one pretty soon. I am open to offers or trade for a TJ.

Good lookin' rig. I've been looking for an XJ that could double as a DD and wheeler. I really "should" get a 4-door...wife, (2) kids & a dog...but I may be interested if the price is right...

Let me know when you nail down your asking price...

I am pretty sure I am going to ask $6000 obo.

I have a 4 door and the 2 door. I have an 18 month old. I really don't have a problem getting her in between the two.

That sucks. Seems like everyone wants a 4 door. I have had two, two door XJ's and I have never really had a problem with my kids. I am going to get a wrangler next. That should be fun trying to get them in there.

I have four kids...I like them to be able to get in and out easily on their own. Like in my ZJ, Suburban, or Explorer.

You noted that there were 250 miles on the suspension and tires, how about the running gear and body?

I checked out a tasty 4-door in Wixom last night, but as I was climbing in it I noticed how narrow the drivers door opening is...and I'm a big boy. A friend of mine had a two (2) door that I should have purchased last summer that seemed easier to get in and out of...

I can relate to Roadhouse...although if I don't end up buying a XJ, I'll probably get a minivan for my bride to cruise in with the kids (that's what she wants anyway)...

The suspension (leafs, coils, shocks, steering stab., wheels, tires, discos) were all new about 2 months ago. The body and axles have the original 156K on them. I have redone the U joints recently, when I did the spring tune up. I haven't done a gear lube swap yet, but it is on my list. The axels seem fine, so it isn't super important. There is no leaks that I can see. No spots on the ground or anything and it is dry underneith.

It could use exhaust and I am planning on picking up a muffler this week, but other than that I haven't had any problems with it. I drive it every day towork and I have had it wheelin a couple times, both easy, no real mud or anything.

There is a TINY bit of rust on the rockers, but not bad or anything. There is a couple little dings and a couple minor scratches (will wheel out) Other than that it is real solid.

I forgot to mention it has rock sliders on it too.

I am not a very big boy and I find my 4-dr's door opening irritatingly small. This XJ was one of the two I was considering before he bought it from the last owner. I had primarily been looking for a 2-dr, but I ended up going the other route. If you are going to use it as a DD, I would highly recommend the 2-dr. Let the kids climb.

It now sports a brand new dynamax muffler!

I also put diamond clear h4 conversion headlights on it, but I may take them back off before I sell it to put them on my wifes.

I thought I was going to head up to Grayling to visit family over this past weekend...in which case I would have liked to swing by to take a look at it. As it stands, those plans have been put on hold until May 12th-14th...

I'm still trying to figure out this weekend. I'll PM you if I can make it out that way...

Thanks! It was actually my 1st try. cost me like $30 to make. I probably could have made it a little cleaner, but it suits its purpose.

TTT....$5000 FIRM....It must go, but I wont go any lower. I need it gone ASAP. I am in Grand Blanc. The Jeep is in Mt. Morris, but I could get it here if need be. My buddy who has been driving it, has been detailing it real well. Seen it today and it looks real nice.
