Default cigar lighter not working

i have a 78 custom deluxe and the cigar lighter does not work i just want to use it to plug a spot light into for shining. i haven't really dug into it to deep yet i just know that it doesn';t work. i assume that it is just a power and ground. if anyone else has had this problem let me know
thanks
Andrew

ussally the gauges fuse or dome light fuse is the one on the old systems like that. anything else that doesn't work on the truck? I'd start there.

If you are going to get into the fuses anyway, why not just run a new one? I am sure it will be in a more convienient location at the vey least.
