Default C-4

Hey guys, i have a c-4 trans in my jeep and all the gears work great in forward and shifts good and hard, but reverse doesn't seem to do anyhting. It will sound like it shifts in and bog down when i shift into reverse, but it goes really really slow and then it won't go anywhere. I have checked and double checked fluid levels, and they are good. I talked with a tranny guy today and he said the reverse band is a big culprit on these things. Also, he mentioned about a rear o-ring on a panel. Anyone know much about these, and how hard something like that is to fix?

thanks,
