Default Lots of junk in carb

Well went to see what the deal was with the Jeep not running in prep for the parade.... Sorta wish i hadn't. Found that it was not getting any fuel other than that from the accel pump jets. When i took the primary fuel bowl off it was full of this kaki colored shit. Hard to explain but it was in small chunks, but was plyable. Not sure what it was, cleaned it all out, and it ran sweet....For 10 minutes.

Went to the gas station thinking maybe it was out of fuel (hard to trust the fuel gauge anymore), on the way i picked up an in line fuel filter to put just before the carb. When i tried to fire it up, same thing. I was so pissed i gave up on it for the day, but i'm thinking whatever it was has clogged it back up.

The jeep still has the factory pump and fuel filter (changed a few years back) Do you think that sitting for the past year has caused the stock filter to break up? It almost looked like hunks of it, but i can't be sure. Its big enough pieces to plug just about everything, including the primary jets.

My cell takes HORRIBLE pics, but maybe you can see something in there. You can see the chunks in the jet on the right, and some chunks in the bottom. I dont know what else it could be..?

if the jeep sat for a long while with shitty gas it may be that or the filter pull it off and check it out.

Basically it sat exactly one year. it still had 4th decorations from last year I always run premium or race gas since it pings on anything else. Would the gas solidify and make that gunk?

hmm, well now i guess im kinda in a rock and a hard place. I'm gunna clean it out one more time tomorrow, but now that i have that fuel filter on there, hopefully it will catch any more shit that comes through. Ive got at least 5 gallons of new fuel in there, on top of who knows what.

X2 drain the tank. Ive had the same thing happen. Condensation in the tank. During the "spring thaw" everything metal in my garage sweats and rusts. You can pick up some gas additive when you park the jeep for the winter months so that doesnt happen.

either that or fill the tank completely full when you store it, less room for condensation, and your gas shouldn't go that rank for one year, even if it does you can still run on one tank of crap gas but be better off than having rust and whatever else from the water in the tank.

personally if i know something is gonna be sitting i run minumum fuel in it and pinch off fuel line and run it out of fuel so the next year i can toss 5 gal in there and be ready to go.
