Default \/\/est Side Trail Cleanup April 29th, 2006

Ok all, I got my phone a couple weeks ago about the trail clean up and with the demise of MJ, I though I should toss it up over here. This years clean up will be on Saturday April 29th. The meeting place will be the Car-Go Gas Station on M-120, Cargo Food & Fuel Inc
5536 Holton Road, Twin Lake, MI 49457
(231) 828-5119
As you pull in you should see lots of people at the back of the station and you should see at least one Duce (Kaiser) there, maybe 2 and maybe a couple skid steer loaders. I hope to see LOTS of you there , its always a good time, the USFS and DNR are always happy too!!

John,
Thanks for posting this event here and on MJ. All your help with enlisting participation is appreciated....not to mention, the Kaiser can hold a lot of roofing shingles/trash Your involvement has been a great help!

I would also like to note that this trail clean-up is put on and organized every year by the Two Trackers 4WD Club based out of Grand Rapids, MI. We have been doing this for the past 10 years, 5 or more within the Muskegon County Area. For more information, you can visit the club at: http://twotrackers.org/ Beware the pop-ups

Hope to see you all there.

I know its early, but the more people we have, the eaiser it is for everyone. This is a great cause, does not cost you anything but fuel to get there, you can do some wheeling and scouting and meet some new people, come on guys and Gals!!

Still lookin for tires but I have time still for that if not like I said the windowless beast still runs and I'm not above takin that out wheelin it wouldn't be the first time anyway. Well, the skid steers and Duces are for the BIG stuff (car bodies (none any more), large piles of shingles, large piles of garbage, large tire piles, etc. There is a lot of scattered trash which many hands, small trailers, jeeps, and pick ups work very nicely for. I have not been out there much lately as my Jeep is in the body shop after a LARGE tree branch fell on it and my Chevy is eagerly awaiting fuel injection. I do have some piles marked and will get more in the comming weeks as the snow and ice go away. What kind of tractor do you have? We may be able to put it to good use, we may just need you.

Thanks!!
Kaiser

This is also the date the Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association is doing trail maintenance up in the Atlanta area, but I'll post this info over at www.glfwda.org in case someone can make it to the west side but not all the way up to Atlanta.

What time are you meeting?

I'm gonna try to make it out with the kids, show them why they need to respect the land (and see how it feels to work for a day!) A few friends have wheeled with you guys and really like the west side, so I wanna see it!

If things work out right I plan on making it with my deuce. It has a dump bed which should make it easy to off load at the end of the day.
