Thats what I surmised. We can dismiss that "positive" for Bush on the grounds of incompetent blathering.

I did not post the original comment calling it good, therefore I do not have to defend my position as I have not yet made it known.

If you are going to make a comment, back it up.

Why don't you back up your comments with actual research and intellect. All you have done is the 3rd grader retort so far. You are one of those mindless liberals that believe everything they hear and repeat it with no actual understanding, aren't you.

Do you actually know what's going on with that system?

There is a standardized test that determines how much funding a school system gets. There is a HUGE incentive for cheating in this exam, and there have been reports of teachers "teaching to the test" and cheating in other ways.

This does not provide a well-rounded education, and it hurts the students in the long run.

Did I submit my suggestion a day too late? No.
Actually, I couldn't find the suggestion box.

Chairman Greenspan releases a report that we are heading into a certain resession due to the actions of the last three years, it will take a monumental effort on the part of the administration to prevent this.

Oh shit I almost forgot that was in Oct of 1999 Clint was still in offce and handing this off to Bush.

Did you know that No Child Left Behind was based on laws that he put into place in Texas while he was governor? Did you know that this plan takes money from scholls that have low test scores and gives it to schools that have high test scores? Also, did you know that in Texas, while Bush was governor, and these education laws were put into place, school officals were prosecuted because they were found to be falsifying test results so that their schools did not lose money?

As a teacher, I do not agree with this act, as it tries to say that all kids are the same. It has been proven over and over again that children develop at different stages.

Don't say that it pissed off the unions, because I am not union, and it pissed me off. Most of the teachers that I know, some who are in to union and love it, some who are in the union and hate it, all agree that NCLB is a buch of crap.

Bush is our president. I support him. Does that mean I agree with everything he does? No. But to sit there and write things without having any facts to back them up make you look like the idiot.

That sounds accurate. Cheating on tests does not provide a well rounded education/hurts the students in the long run. I agree with you.

I suppose so yes Also, did you know that in Texas, while Bush was governor, and these education laws were put into place, school officals were prosecuted because they were found to be falsifying test results so that their schools did not lose money? There are dishonest people in every profession. You're assuming that these people wen tout of their way and tried everything possible to get their kids to learn and they were just too dumb. Who was at fault for the low scores? The teachers? The administration? the students? parents? Law enforcement? all of the above? Does that mean the school should just stay open business as usual while it continues to spit out humans who are undereducated?

As a teacher, I do not agree with this act, as it tries to say that all kids are the same. I think it tries to say that kids who are in a certain grade should be able to perform to certain minimum standards? Who is right? It has been proven over and over again that children develop at different stages.fine

Don't say that it pissed off the unions, because I am not union, and it pissed me off. Most of the teachers that I know, some who are in to union and love it, some who are in the union and hate it, all agree that NCLB is a buch of crap. wait, do they love/hate nclb or do they love/hate the union? OK then what should be used to ensure that students in a given grade perform to a certain minimum standard in reading/math/science? And what should be done to change the situation when schools are found to be under performing? What sacrifices need to be made and by who in order to correct this problem? What was being done in this regard before nclb? Was it working?

Bush is our president. yes I support him. *whew* another one. I do to. It doesnt seem like theres many of us left. Does that mean I agree with everything he does? No. No. But to sit there and write things without having any facts to back them up make you look like the idiot.no you
this is the interweb. I can write whatever I was including my opinion without backing it up. And since 1. I pretty much know it isnt going to change anybody elses opinion. and 2. I dont care what most people think, Ill probably keep doing it.
