Trac bar grease

I just put a new trac bar in and there is no grease fitting sticking out, just a hole that's about 3/16" dia. in the bottom of the bar below the grease boot. I just bought a needle fitting for my gun, but that's not working. Am I suposed to use some other kind of fitting?
