Default dana 50 axle

ok seriously what is peoples problem with the dana 50? its not as strong as a 60 yes i know but its stronger than a 44. if there willing to put them in a 9000 lb diesel excursion then my 6500 lb bronco with a 302 isnt goin to hurt it. im tired of people complainin about how i should have bought a 60. i paid 475 for both axles with 4.30s hubs on the front and no brake but had brakes on the rear sterling with disc and all.
yea the hubs suck but both my diffs are welded and i beat the heck out of it upnorth when i went and i didnt have a problem at all.

It's a ford axle so that should answer a lot of questions about hating it.

Ironic, 6 "internet" words "aint" "guna" "ppl" "bitchn" "shoulda" "outa" worth 10 points each equals 60, yes 60 points street cred. Minus 10 points for complete disregard for sentence structure and punctuation, and you get 50 points cred for this post. I'd give you more for only spending $475, having welded differentials, and beating the snot "outa" it upnorth, but I'm sure that should be a given. So dana 50 street cred it is.

Who said the 50 sucks?

the 50 is essentially 44 carrier and 60 shafts and steering if I am correct. its kinda like the hybrid 44s out there that run 44 center section and 60 steering and what not. With 35s youll be fine. Im still running my 35s on my dana 30/35 and havent broken anything at ALL for 3 years and I do wheel it hard.

yeah but the center section on a d50 is the same size as a d60. so you get the strength of a d44 but the "bad" ground clearance of a 60. and correct me if i'm wrong but dont all d50's have a metric 8-lug bolt pattern.

I see your wimpy "fitty", and raise you a Spicer/Dana 70 front axle. How many points do I get for that, and the stock front lift blocks.
