Default Cat Needs Home

I have an awesome cat who has always been perfect....until our baby came. Now we always have our son and don't let the cat sit on our laps like we used to. This prompted him to run outside a week ago and he got into a fight. Now he still has an open wound on his leg and won't walk on it. I don't really want to take him to the humane society and have him end up spending his last days in a little cage so I would rather just have him put down. Unless someone on here will take him, or someone has a better idea, he'll be gone tomorrow. He is neutered, has all of his shots, 7 years old, no front claws, indoor only, SUPER nice, needs lots of attention. This is the type of cat who just lays around all day and will sit on your lap through an entire movie and not make a peep.

That's very rude. What makes you think I don't like cat meat?

I want to have a good home for him. Our son comes first and when the cat is around he rubs all over our son and he gets hair in his eyes and the cat likes to push his nose into his face too....and that doesn't seem very sanitary. If we didn't have a 2 month old I would keep this cat forever. This is seriously the coolest cat I've ever been around but he's not happy. We also have ZERO money to get him fixed up. I really don't want to do it, and I never thought that I would be the person who did.....but this is what it has come to. We have 2 big dogs, a cat, and a baby. It's just too much right now. We were trying to find him a new home before he got hurt, and now it just sucks more. The last thing I want is for him to stay mad and run out of the house again. He doesn't stand a chance with the neighborhood cats and I don't want him to slowly die in an alley somewhere. I love this cat and my wife and I have put a lot of thought into this, but this is our choice.

Give him to the humane society. It's a better chance than being "gone tomorrow." What I gather from that is that you're going to have it put to sleep.

I found a place called Crashe's landing which is a no-kill cat shelter. I just have to call to see if they will take injured animals. He is a very shy cat around new places/people and there is no way that I could put him in a cage with a very good chance that he would just suffer for 2 weeks and then be put down.

If they won't take him, PM me tomorrow. I'll find him a no kill shelter.

Sounds like the cat absolutely hates your son. I'm sure they'll never get along at all.

Is it good with other cats? It does know how to charge up eye lazors, definitely a plus.

Seriously, our male cat was attached to our son from the moment he was born. Connor is now almost 3 and Jack is his best friend.

I would think about reconsidering the decision. There will be alot of happy times coming ahead for your family and there should be room for both the baby and the cat.

Good luck either way.

You said you have a couple dogs, the cat gets along well with them? Erin and I have 3 miniture schnauzers. We had two kittens but they were terrors. Erin gave them to a mom and a daughter. She had an older cat before and she was fine but started peeing everywhere that wasn't her litterbox. We ended up putting her down.

I know she would like another older cat so maybe I can talk to her about this one.

You have a PM
