I originally thought it was a gag.

However, it appears that it's legit.

Asshats.

""Gimme, gimme, gimme. Look at me, look at me. It's all about MEEEEEEEE. I'm the first pregnant woman ever - this is all new..." Unfortunately, I know the type.

I must be missing something. I have seen the statment "ASSHATS" in a few post. originally thought they misspelled assholes but have seen too often and the letters changed are not close together. it could be an age gap difference but just wondering where "ASSHATS" came from.

What about hearses? The driver and corpse in the back. Can they ride in the carpool lane too?

I don't think this has much to do with abortion, that's a separate issue, and let's not even get started on that in this thread.

I think it's fine for pregnant women to get handicap passes and things like that. Honestly though, if you're going to say it's a passenger so they can be in the carpool lane, then women should have to pay double for everything, if that's how they want to be.

In no way am I trying to come down on pregnant women or anything, but c'mon now, our species has been reproducing since the stone age and crap and I don't think women did much bitching then.

I believe the term is not carpool lane but H.O.V. lane. H.O.V. stand for High occupancy vehicle. It is to get people to carpool yes, but the law in some of the states with these lanes states percentage of occupancy.
Since we are talking about these lanes and the legality of using them, why not motorcycle riders. Your vehicle, while only having one rider (at times) is 50% occupied, therefore, eligible for the HOV lane.
As for the pregnant women, not sure it is enforceable. How would an officer be able to tell from driving behind the vehicle if the person is pregnant? How far along before it becomes legal? Then does the woman need to carry a note from her doctor proving she is pregnant? The sign "Unborn baby on board" won't cut it. Too much room for abuse.
Moot point here in MI anyway, I can't think of anywhere we have H.O.V. lanes.

If I was an officer, I would write a pregnent lady a ticket.

But if I pulled over this girl, I would simply give her a warning,

I think it's about fricken time something like this happened.

Unborn opression has gone on long enough. They have no right to vote, or to own property. Illegal for them to use the carpool lane like it a "no unborns allowed road". Every other race, nationality, and gender affiliation can use the carpool lane without a problem. They're not even technically a citizen! With all the recent toddler supremecy groups sprouting up it's only a matter of time before this turns into violence!

FIGHT FOR UNBORNS RIGHTS!!!

my thought............................... you ready?? :tonka:

Women should get respect just for being women and a women with child should get even more. With out women most of you would be in a world that you would not care to be in. YES some women use this to get what they want but the most of us are just mothers and wives out here trying to make all of your lives better.

(as soon as a sperm hits a egg it is life and should be treated as such.)
This is my thought on this and you will not change it.

as far as a car pool lane I could give a rip I live in the north and we like our dirt roads just fine.

I should think the larger issue would be said unborn child not being in a car seat, if this is the direction they're taking...

Well...that....is just stupid. Worrying about IF they will make it home? They;ll make it home just fine in the regular lane...just slower than the carpool lane.

it should only ok if pregnant chics are ok with being charged for two tickets: on a plain, a bus, a movie, an all you can eat buffett, two concert tickets, two of everything, I MEAN EVERTHING that charges you by the person or seat. Unfortunately with out doing tons of reading on that link i have a feeling they just want more "rights" not any more obligations or constraints or encured new costs. Only free stuff thats benefitial. They want a baby to count as two when it helps them get home quickly, not if it costs an extra $6 at the all you can eat chinese buffett. Bitches :miff: <---- cooter kick

Lastly if you dont have to share you medical records with anyone how is a cop supposed to know if you a preganant? It goes against our most fundamental laws of innocent until proven guilty. You would be presumed not pregnant untill you prove to the officer or court that you are pregnant, but the courts already uphold the idea you do not need to share any of your private medical info with anyone? Its a femi nazi catch 22.

The cops could start giving out roadside GYN exams.

Its real easy for you GUYS who will never be Pregnant to say, oh thats BS, blah blah blah.....
just another reason it is better to be a man
The baby does count as a life, and once that baby is pushing down on one of your bladders, then you can say what you wish, but until then STBU :p
sorry, no you are wrong. the baby will be considered a second passenger when his/ her ass is in a carseat
None of you men have any idea :miff:
We dont need an idea. We make the rules
Car Pool lanes are just stupid anyways....
Try one in heavy traffic. It sure is nice when my passenger and I are crusing down the car pool lane and all those single drivers( pregnant women included) are stuck in traffic
Glad there are none around me

EDIT: Just read the article, some of it is stupid,
Some of it is stupid? You are right. The part were these jackass women dont want to follow the rules. they want them changed to fit their needs.

Ok I understand you were in an accident and I dont mean to be a dick but are you fawing kidding?

How about after working ten hours I dont need the extra stress of sitting in traffic trying to get home. I'll just use the sidewalk. I'm sure that is cool.

What do you mean people in the mid-west dont understand? Last time I looked we have to deal with irrational pregnant women here as well.
