Yes, we should have more forces in Afghanistan, and we should not have gone into Iraq when we did. But this election is about going forward from where we are now, not what we should have done 6 years ago. It's to late to not go into Iraq, so the question now is how do we resolve the conflict to our best advantage. I don't think cutting and running is the best answer to that question.

Do you know what fascism is? Do you know that all fascist movements that have happened in history came from the left? Now I agree that McCain is a bit left leaning but to call him a fascist is wrong. If you wanted to call Obama a fascist, then I could maybe agree with you, but really, Obama is a Marxist.

McCain is a slightly right of center Conservative.

I agree freedom will lose.

Let's see: Obama the happy-talking hard-core leftist empty suit or McCain the centrist semi-conservative? Not a stellar field - we've reached that point where we've driven anybody qualified for the job away from wanting it.

And any "third party" candidate is throwing one's vote away in the form of a protest (right or wrong).

Right now, I'd have to say McCain, because despite his many flaws, he's closer to being a conservative than Obama. I don't agree with a lot of his positions (remember amnesty for illegals?) but he's got the depth needed for the job. Obama's platform still consists of a lot of vague "feel good" items wrappered in a "here's why he deserves it" (rather than a "here's how he can serve you") package.

WASHINGTON - Black conservative talk show host Armstrong Williams has never voted for a Democrat for president. That could change this year with Barack Obama as the Democratic Party's nominee.

"I don't necessarily like his policies; I don't like much that he advocates, but for the first time in my life, history thrusts me to really seriously think about it," Williams said. "I can honestly say I have no idea who I'm going to pull that lever for in November. And to me, that's incredible."

Just as Obama has touched black Democratic voters, he has engendered conflicting emotions among black Republicans. They revel over the possibility of a black president but wrestle with the thought that the Illinois senator doesn't sit beside them ideologically

Lets see, Obama has opposing views to this guy and he dosen't agree with him at all, but he may vote for him anyway.
???????????????????
People like this should NOT be allowed to vote.

Don't worry, I'm sure people like that will be more than offset by people that do agree with his views but won't vote for him because he's black or because they don't like some part of his name or family history.

If McCain had a different stance on the war, I would vote for him. Too bad he's a puppet to the Bush administration on that issue... POW and all.

Obama is a socialist/capitalist so the answer is easy

McCain is ignorant.

choice is easy, I am moving to Italy. There is no hope for this nation, let the capitalists have it.

Well, after sitting through Obama, I am certain that I will not vote for Obama.

Gov't control of jobs, businesses, personal finance...it's all kind of scary to me, really.

"We all need an equal share of the pie" and other such statements don't sound all that capitalistic...or rational, for that matter.

$4000 per student per year also sounds kind of ... unbackable ... as well. (For kettering alone, which is a darn small school, it would cost the gov. $9.6 million/year!). But, of course, this would come out of the tax breaks (which are supposedly 3 times the McCain supported tax cuts).

Also, the plans for bailing people out of credit card debt/foreclosure are kind of eerie to me as well. Obama is saying that the credit card companies are corrupt and need reform, which is odd to me because I know several people with credit cards who have not incurred massive debts. Why should the government pay off other people's debts? Should we have a government controlled credit card company?

Obama also wants a green commission set up and wants to meet up with the big 3 to have the "cars of tomorrow" built today...I think the market is doing a good job of waking these companies up...do we really need the government intervening on another industry? Does the government know the business better than the businessmen themselves?

I need to find a rock to hide under before they come for me!!!
