I have to mostly agree with you. If we want to get the REAL terrorists, we should be in Afganistan, Pakistan, not Iraq. The terrorists were not in Iraq, until we over thru their government. Sadam was not the terrorist of 9/11. Granted he was not a well liked guy. But its time to let Iraq run themselves and deal with their own damn problems. We are loosing troops daily and senselessly in my opinion.
I say fight terrorism, but go where it needs to be faught. Thats not Iraq and never was.
So we keep a base in Iraq, thats obviously a given and was probably the REAL only reason for the whole damn thing. We will probably still be in Iraq for the next 100 years in one way or another.
Yesterday alone 50 people were killed by a damn car bomb. 75 more were injured. Its senseless.

I haven't read this whole thread, maybe it's been brought up already. I'm not normaly a single issue voter, but Obamas disdain for the second amendment is enough not to vote for him.

I just saw this article and didn't really want to post a new thread about it.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chris-..._b_108401.html

Are there really people who think the media is being easier on McCain than Obama? McCain just managed to keep a low profile while Hillary and Obama duked it out. Other than that, I see stories online nearly daily regarding shit he's done wrong.

McCain's view on the second amendment isn't all that great either. Sorry I don't have quotes, but you can find the junk here: justinbuist.org/blog

I'm most scared of the socialism that Obama keeps preaching. Just reading Jim's (General Lee) post makes me want to leave. Just move somewhere that has no governmental control and live with good ol' fashion vigilante justice. I don't want the government to be my nanny. I stopped asking my parents for help when I was 14. I don't know why everyone needs government help . . . 4k per semester to go to college? Hmm, yeah that's fair. How about all those "privileged" doctors and lawyers that have $400k school debt. Are you going to retro-actively repay their loans? Oh, I see, it's too hard to get a school loan . . . my ass. It's too expensive to go to school . . . my ass. All giving money does is create entitlement and more problems.

Sorry, I get a little 'upset' when I type about this stuff, and tend to not make any sense because I'm erasing half of what I type.

And no, I'm not voting for McCain either.

I'm planning on writing RON PAUL in the blank. Read his books.

Another thought . . .
I read that Obama wants to outlaw all gun retailers that are within 5 miles of a school . . .
Hmm, let's see, I think that you could count a lot of schools within a 5 mile radius of ANY place in a city. That basically means that guns could not be sold in any city. That's just great. Keep in mind that the second amendment was not created for hunting.

It was also not created for self defense.

It was created to keep the citizens armed to protect them from oppressive government . . . you may think I'm tin-foil hattin' around, but when you read about the basic rights that have been violated, . . . wait, nevermind. Ignorance is bliss . . . everything is fine. I guess people, in general need to be told what they can and should do.

You have got to be kidding me !

I read your last two posts and I can't believe what I read !

First, don't you know that when somebody wants to commit a crime with a gun they first look in the phome book to locate a legitimate gun dealer located near a school so the can purchase a gun with all the paper work involved to commit a crime somewhere else.

second, why would you wnat to defend against a repessesive government, all they want to do is take care of you by controlling your life, havent you ever seen how great communisum works and how happy everbody is

third, why would you write a guys name on the ballot that wants to quit wasting taxes and give this country the strength it is capible of attaining when you can vote for a communistic rasicist anti american piece of shit

please get your act together, its imperative this country be brought to its knees, and with your attitude it will never happen.

I might vote for Ron Paul as well. It seems like a wasted vote, but if everyone thought likt that, then there would be no chance in hell.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle’.’

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was. The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle’.’

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain. You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb a$ put him up there to begin with.’

I really hate these kind of statements. Can't anyone remember the weeks leading up to the war? IRAQ WOULDN'T ALLOW THE WEAPON INSPECTORS TO DO THIER JOB. This whole war is really about enforcing post Desert Storm sanctions. We had to put our money where our mouth was.

Sorry, I couldn't help it.

I think the media is being easier on McCain (partly because he's boring).

I also think this is giving Obama an advantage. Similar to the FDR days, when a candidate has virtually no competition, they have a big media disadvantage.

Right now the big issue is the fact that Obama has a ton more cash to spend on commercials, but he's already getting so much media coverage. Good or bad, his name is getting out there.

I'm WAY more familiar with Obama's ideas and goals than I am of McCains, and the media attention is the reason why.

I wish they'd focus on McCain more.

There's the whole problem with politics right there. The media interjects, says what they think you should and want to hear and then people begin to believe it. Damn sorry state we are in when people actually listen to what they are told rather than do the research and decide for themselves.

This was sent to me by one of the owners of Silverlion Films, it was titled,

Idiot quote of the century

'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the
world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.'
