Default Mounds Rock Crawl WTF !!!!!!!!!!

So I've been contacting the Genesee County almost monthly since January inquiring as to when the RPF would be released so potential contractors could bid on building OUR Rock Course......well,
Bids were due today May 29, 2008 @ 3:00 pm.
So much for open communication from Genesee County to the user community.
As of yet I don't know how many contractors put a bid in. I was told that the bids would be opened and a decision made. It would then be approved by the Genesee County Parks Comission in June most likely.
When and if I find our more I will let everyone know. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.
I apologize to those of you who were interested in supplying a bid but missed out.

I just looked at the MITN system and there is nothing listed for Genesee County as a closed bid, do they not use the MITN system?

Rowe did the engineering, these bids are for excavating and construction.

Interesting thing is that Rowe told jim that they were going to review their design with us. Didn't happen. They also told him that our proposal was the most informative information they found.

So, here's jim trying to work with Gen county & they just dis him. Sucks.

As long as Amy is running the parks things will be like this.

Look at what they did to For-Mar, the Huckleberry Railroads mess of internal issues, Crossroad village being a fricken giant gift shop/carnival (as opposed to what it used to be)

Amy is singlehandedly running the parks into the ground.

GCP&R has recieved bids. Apparently cost was to high. 'They' are working to reduce cost. Evidently 'they' have yet to think about asking us what they might be able to do to recuce cost. We (GLFWDA) are the ones who designed it. We are the ones who spec'd it out. It was our information that accompanied the RFP that the contractors quoted on. It would be us that could give them input as to the trade-offs that we could or would not accept.
As this Rock Crawl is something that NO contractor in this area is familiar with the logical response would be to bid high.......duh!
I have sent numerous e-mails which have all gone unanswered.
I have also contacted 'other' affected parties and they are looking into it.
As soon as I find out anything I will let everyone know.
