I know you like to throw out all the stuff in the old testament, except the fact that Jesus states in the New Testament that the old covenant is still legitimate.

It's fine though, I'd prefer it if you just pick and chose the good stuff, except some of it is just oppressive and not good.

Define slavery for me prz.

In biblical days, "slavery" if you're referring to the whole old testament "smack yer slave with a hoe, go to jail, do not pass go, and do not collect 200 denari" that was VASTLY different from the type of slavery that largely exists today (and, by today, I'm referencing the past few centuries). That form of "slavery" (and I hate to use the word because of the connotations associated with it) was more of a class situation than anything.

The slavery similar to our civil war times was based on race....kinda' like the Hebrews in Egypt, come to think of it, and I don't think God liked that ordeal very much...

And, then, of course, there is "slavery to sin", but I'm sure you're not talking about that.

Yes, Jesus came to fulfill the old testament and he stood for it (Heck! He was God for Christ's sake!!! :tonka: ), but He didn't go toting "an eye for an eye". I pick what Jesus commands, and choose what Paul reinforces.

Middle men don't speak their words, they speak the already spoken words of God, found in the Bible. If you want to demean me, try quoting scripture, you are a sucky middle man.

so you are saying that it is impossible for god to speak with someone now that the bible is written?

No, not impossible, just few and far between. BUT... I AM ALSO saying that if someone wants to speak a prophetic word, it must never conflict with the scriptures. It is further commanded to test the spirits, but I won't explain that at length. The point though is this: God has already spoken, if you want to know what God says, see what he has already spoken.

1. Christianity is based on fear
2. Christianity preys on the innocent
3. Christianity is based on dishonesty
4. Christianity is extremely egocentric
5. Christianity breeds arrogance, a chosen-people mentality
6. Christianity breeds authoritarianism
7. Christianity is cruel
8. Christianity is anti-intellectual, anti-scientific
11. Christianity has an exceedingly narrow, legalistic view of morality
12. Christianity encourages acceptance of real evils while focusing on imaginary evils
13. Christianity depreciates the natural world
14. Christianity models hierarchical, authoritarian organization

You can apply nearly all of these points to our current republican administration.

Interesting.

Well, God really spoke to me. He said to appologize to me for calling me "sucky". He also said "who does this guy think he is, God?" . We had a good laugh over that one.

1. Dems use fear as a political weapon just like the repubs (failing war, slowing economy, welfare, social security, etc)
8. Dems believe in global warming.... and many other unintellectual, unscientific ideas.
11. Dems base morality on feelings not on truth, so yes, you are right to an extent on that one.
12. Like abortion? trust me, there are several here too.
13. Huh? Dems are depreciating our ability to harness the natural world, thereby leading to our inability to improve how we interact with it. (no more nuclear reactors which SAVE energy)
17. Many would argue that the agenda and pandering to the homosexual community is a result of an obsession with it (which could result from a homophobia in itself).

The burden was on me to only prove that dems do the same things. Not to argue each point with you why the repubs do them too.

1. Dems are preaching affordable healthcare and pushing insurance. Insurance is entry level fear.
8. Dems will tell you the Polar bear is in trouble when infact Polar population overall has been and still is on the rise. They use anti-intellectual and anti scientific publications to do so. Furthermore this is another example of use of fear.
11. Dems narrow view of morality goes to the point that they would sacrifice the majority for the sake of a minority. Thats a narrow part of the overall scheme of things.
12. Dems fight for NAMBLA thats a real evil, but tell you to be ware of the evil rich buisness owner. Thats also another scare tactic.
13. Dems push the DEQ, since the DEQ has began oversight of our waste water treatment plants our water quality has gone to shit, so to speak. They have also made the use of naturally occuring enzymes illegal for petroleum base clean up, instead we get to take it all to the land fill. Try modifing a naturally occuring enzyme to eradicate PCBs. That should be a good science project for you, when you get stuck call me and i'll give you the recipe.
17. Dems don't like fags anymore than the next guy. Don't you remember the photo you posted showing me how smart you are, what was his name, Ralph Nader, no thats not it was some Republican trying to get gay sex wasn't it.

Come on get real there all the same and you know it.
