Great statement. I completely agree. And I for one make stupid mistakes all the time!

Yup. I agree.

"Christianity" is not innocent. They spilled a perfectly pure man's blood to atone for the whole worlds sin. :tonka:

Stay out? Seriously? It's like throwing out a peace of meat in front of a Starving Fat man.

Well, I know you probably mean this in the metaphorical sense, should I post what the bible has to say about slavery?

Sure, that would be great because you might have to read some of it

The very premise of that list is stupid. It would suggest that you should choose a religion based upon how it fits into your live and matches your view of proper behavior. Like you'd pick a religion like you might pick out a new car. The only legitimate reason to accept or reject a religion should be if you believe it to be based on the true word of "god" and/or a proper understanding of the workings of the universe or not.

To reject a religion just because you don't like how it's practiced or the effect it can have on some people is absurd.

I completely agree. Yet another good thought/quote from this thread. Thank you.

I think of it more along the lines as actually meaning this... "if we actually read those 20 things by the over emotional author, we might have lost our faith."

Give me a break!!!! It was so weak!

Agreed, that notion is absurd.

And Oprah wants you to believe that premise, it is bullcrap.

And neither does any rational person, so you may want to adjust the title of the thread accordingly.

I think most of the items on the list bring up valid points.

What ever happened to Chiefwoohaw anyways?

Good points?......<bobbles head>...Eh.

As sad as it is to admit, I pretty much had a viable Answer to most of those "reasons". Most of wich actually have been braught up here or on another site I've been at. Going on my "dead horse" theme today.

"20 Dead horses that have been beaten senseless by non-christians to try and debunk Christiantiy"

There are some valid points regarding the manner in which Christianity is practiced, but the only valid point reason to abandon Christianity is that you don't believe in it.

Church= 2 hours that I could be spending with my family and offering money that I could donate directly to a good charity. I know that I'm a good person at heart and I don't think that going to church will make me a better person.

Me neither, because I don't go to church for ME, I go to serve others. Yes narcissism is bad, but not nearly as bad as self-righteousness, good luck with that.
