Just proof that many people are uneducated idiots!

The Heaven's gate cult is a great example, just because one man makes up an insane book/cult doesn't make it true!

The Bible has 30-40 authors through the span of 1000 years and their theme fits together perfectly and in historically accurate... a little different.

Now we're getting somewhere, so you agree that the Bible is historically correct?

I agree that some of the people and places mentioned in the Bible existed.

The bible is just a fictional story book that has been pumped, rewritten, twisted, etc by whatever group is in power over the past 2000 years. Personally, I think you must be an idiot for believing it is somehow some perfect guide to living, just as you refer to me as an idiot for not agreeing with your beliefs. :chiefwoohaw:
Ok, if you know as much as you say you do, perhaps you can enlighten me on the exact pumping, twisting, and re-writing that has occured. Please, o wise one, enlighten me.

Forget it Dave. I'm not biting. I don't believe in god. I don't agree with you. I don't believe in religion. I'm done arguing with you. I have better ways to spend my time than researching fairy tales.

The bottom line is that your accusations are lies, and your backing out proves it.

Bullshit. It is pointless to argue this with you. Your are deadset in your beliefs. That is fine. I am dead set in mine. We are never going to change each other's minds on this. No matter what I say, you aren't going to agree with it. You can't post ANY details or factual proof of what you are saying, and I am not going to waste my time researching ways to prove you wrong. I am simply quitting the arguement. You can live with your fantasy and I will live without it.

Good. I'm not going to argue the miracles with you (although I think they did happen and do still happen today), but if we can get to a place where we agree things like dates and people are correct, then attribute some truth to the Bible. This is part of the reason that Christianity has "outlasted" many pagan beliefs. Raw historical fact.

Stop spreading your unprovable lies, and bow out gracefully while you still can.

I am a pagan, I believe in norse mythology. Our religion was nearly wiped out in the crusades. The witch hunts are another example. Its what mainstream religion has been able to brainwash people with hate towards us, because we are "non believers" and "savages".

I was raised going to church and I believe in Jesus. Growing up I had to ask myself why do I believe what I believe? Why do so many people use the lords name in vane? Why are most of the people that dont believe not as happy? Why is it so easy to do things that are described as sin?

It seems to me if Jesus wasnt real it would go away like all the other fads. It takes effort to live a Godly lifestyle. I fell into alot of bad habbits in highschool and stayed with them for 3 years. I am not proud of that time but I am a curious person and I am glad that I got it out of my system young. I have had more satisfaction and peace living this lifestyle than I ever did the other. Dont get my wrong I am still a sinner and will always be but I strive to do what is right. I still have alot of fun wheeling and doing other things without the drinking, drugs, or cussing. I am not a bookworm or historian, I do not want to debate I just wanted to describe why I believe.
