Wow, you have your gas and maintenance entered in a database? How totally anal

x2 on the Tracker, my wife drives one, and has put it thru hell for 5 years with no major breakdowns, just a water pump and a heater hose taking it off the road for any time.

I have an HHR panel, 23 city (using remote start to heat it up in the cold) and 38 hiway if I keep it to 65mph, drops to 30mpg at 80mph.

And for shortt hops, I have the Honda moped- 150mpg!

92 Saturn 5 speed 140K Cost $10.00 38 to 40 mpg highway. It sucks, but really does reduce the pain at the pump.

Doubting Thomas?
really does average 40mpg The bug doesnt keep up with I-75 traffic very well 55-60 cuises nice but the rubberband sounds like its going to snap at anything over 70. My brother used to live in davison and when he wanted to build a barn I drove down there from saginaw 14 or 15 times and noticed if I tucked in really close on a semi truck I could take my foot right off the gas almost completly the motor droped in rpm and I could maintain 70-75 mph with ease. On one of those trips I decided to see what kind of mileage difference there was, I was really surprised I got 68mpg useing a semi truck on the way down and 53mpg driving back with out any draft help and maintaining a 60-65mph speed

Doesnt sound so unreasonable to me. ~50 horsepower engine, aerodynamic 1800 pound car driven conservatively - should be 40mpg easy

2000 Ford Focus Sony Edition with the Zetec and a 5 Speed 150K miles

Averages around 30 around town with the wife driving it, pulls 34 on the highway keeping it at or around 70. 80-85MPH drops it to about 26.
