Default 1978 F-250, 400M, D44 front, 45k miles, very clean!

Hey guys…I had an Uncle pass away a few months back, and my Aunt is now going to start selling some of the things that she cant use. She doesn't know the first thing about trucks, so she asked me for a little help.

The truck is a 1978 Ford F-250 4x4 automatic, with 45,281 actual original miles. It is in pristine condition, my Uncle bought it new in ’78 and absolutely babied it over the years…it has been garage stored, and only driven in nice weather. Everything is original…paint, motor, interior, etc. The motor is the original 400M with 45k miles on it, and it has a D44 in the front.

I will start with pictures of the motor:

I know the cab corners are normally the first place that goes on these trucks, so here are a few pictures showing the condition. There is no structural rust, only a few rock chips and very minor surface rust. The wheel wells are also normally a problem area, but they look new on this truck still.

The frame is not rusted, along with the whole undercarriage…it still looks great, which is very rare for a Michigan truck.

The interior looks better than my ’04, spotless for being 30 years old.

And the exterior speaks for itself, the past 30 years were very good to this truck.

Now for the good part…the price. I have done a ton of research and talked to many people trying to get a good value for this truck, it has been fun trying to find comparable vehicles that have sold recently because most aren’t original, or have a lot of miles/rust.

I am listing it for $15,000, this is a very fair price for what you are getting.

If you are interested, best thing to do is to come and see the truck in person…it is hard to get a feel for how clean the truck is through pictures. The price is negotiable, so I’m sure we can work something out.
Give me a call or an email and we can set up a time and date to look everything over, the truck is located in Monroe, Michigan.

Please, serious questions and inquiries only…I have had multiple offers of 3-4k, which is not going to happen.

Thanks for looking,
Kyle

If i could get a personal loan for 13,000 i would get rid of my dodge van and buy that as a daily driver . you should have no problem selling that thing on ebay good luck with the sale

Only Customs had round headlights in 78, higher trim levels got square headlights, then all trim levels in 79

Nice truck! Throw a Dana 60 in front and demand will go way up.

My 78 F250 is no where near that nice, but it has not sat in a garage every winter, it has plowed since year one, (on my second plow, first one rusted out) I would not sell mine for 1/2 what you're asking.

Good luck selling!
