Pretty good. Didn't catch the floor mats on fire while doing some full throttle hill climbs but it it's not the same as snow wheeling. Now that I moved it there is room for wrap.

Since you seem to be building more than a normal usage of a jeep for doing flexing and high impact off roading. The stress you are adding to the frame will be three to four times what the jeep was designed to do. And being that you made the new part of the frame out of heavier metal which means less flexing of the frame mean you transfer more stress to the old part of the frame. Granted I might be not seeing the splice you did inside of the old frame but I also didn't see any weld joints to that splice in any pictures. Call me a fool but over building something now is better than repairing something in the future IE on the trail in the middle of nowhere.
@dodger889 Just for giggles I'm bumping this. 6 years later with a fair amount of wheeling all over the country (Canada, South Dakota, Windrock, Johnson Valley, Moab), these joints look as good now as they were when the mod was done. Sarry Dodger889, you was wrong.

I didn't fish plate mine either when I back halved my frame for coil overs and mine is fine still too. We must have both gotten lucky Jim.

I was just thinking about that the other day.
Has it really been 6 years! WOW!
If that joint hadn't been supported by your cage and body mounts, the solution would have been different.
Many fabricators simply believe MORE mass is better........Maybe they should look at a desert truck up close sometime. Those guys know how to fabricate.

Not much to update. Just finished up another year of wheeling after the body off restoration without any major issues. We just got back from 3 days in Canada at GG, mostly mild wheeling but some tough rocks and another 2 days at the Loonie Run with the CheapThrills guys doing some tough rocks. Had a blast.

Here is an opportunity to show how the stickies work. Some people don't think they make much difference but at a place like the Loonie Run, they have moments where they simply rock. Did I go places where others didn't? Not necessarily. Did I go places without effort where others struggled? Take a look at a couple vids and judge for yourself.

Here is Andy with Iroks on the Outback ledge.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJy8lUwbbcQ

Here are the stickies. I wish I had a video of John or Kyle in this same spot. Normally, to drive this, you go up and flop to the right. The front tires have to slide over a bump. My tires wouldn't allow me to slide and I actually just drove up straight. (I didn't have any rear brakes on this hill so when backing up I was a little out of control )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIA4_A0PdAg#t=60

Another of the Outback. Kyle made the first line his longer wheelbase. It wasn't for me. But the line to the right was a walk in the park.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNjv1NKJPcc

And this one was way tougher than the vid shows. 4 rigs, 2 made it, 2 winched.
The thing to note with the stickies is at the last climb, how well they grab when you back off the throttle and idle.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8QUUgZxhjc

Although there is no video, I got within a couple feet of the top of Helmet Hill (on the left) by crawling. I think that if the moss ever gets worn off that side and with a good rain, it's feasible to crawl it.

So, running in lots of water, I decided to pull the front hubs off to see if they were wet. Wet is an understatement Time to replace my 35 year old spindles and get new ones with a decent inner seal surface. So, @JohnnyJ and @jeepm715, I will be repacking the hubs next week if you want any practice.

So what your saying is that stickies are like a walker with tennis balls on the legs; sure you can go places, but you need a walker to go there! :)
But serious q, they are street legal?
