Well, last weekend at bigby's reminded me why I should stick to milder wheeling when I don't have my beadlocks on.

Went to St. Helen yesterday and wheeled in 12-15" of snow. Gawd, I love the Iroks in the snow. I was really smart and put my good softop on before we went. Of course I slid into a tree & destroyed it.

Developed a growl in the front end. I'm afraid it's in the front dif. Heading out to the garage to investigate now.

Yup and they lead to hated repairs. I think the bulk of the noise was from my front carrier bearing, which is getting pretty sloppy. But I decided to pull the front diff cover to take a look. I'm thinking I shouldn't have. Pinion gear has a couple nasty chips. The chunks are pretty much in bedded into some gunk in the bottom so I don't think it's a fresh break but I hate having a potential problem lurking. So, off goes another call to Dale at Ironman.

Huh? We did take it off to clean and air it back up but that was outside in the cold rain. Time to do a better job.

I still get confused when you post a picture of that burgundy jeep with clean fenders.

looks like you still had some fun in st. Helen, 12-15" of snow would be a blast to play in never the less

Pulled the radiator. Looks like the trans cooler rubbed a hole in a rib. Repairable, should be back together for r&v.

your jeep is telling you that it wants to wheel hard....er... the damage is easily explainable that way.
