You got the left in the Al crack creek section. Following you I look over at a rock and point out to randy the Burgundy paint left on it.

After twisting a couple driveshafts on pavement with the stickies & spool, I ordered a Grizzly locker from Ironman Offroad. Many people had said they were surprised that I twisted a driveshaft instead of an axle shaft. Well, I'm not one to disappoint.

Opinions on reusing or replacing the shaft, especially knowing that I am ditching the spool & going to a locker?

So, then I pulled the Hi-9 center section & I found this little issue.

I had read somewhere that True Hi-9 was having trouble getting gear sets. Here's hoping that's not true. If so, I'm fubarred.

At the very least, the jeep won't be making it to the Mustache Run.

Why don't you just admit you can't grow a mustache?

Please don't tell my wife that.
I haven't liked the spool & stickies for some time. Looks like I waited to long to get around to the swap.

Tab, you are right, I WON'T grow a mustache.

I still don't understand why a locker instead of a spool will make a difference. Yes if you only turn by coasting with your foot off the gas. But if you have any power applied the locker is just like the spool....I is confused about it.

I twisted a driveshaft in a paved parking lot with brand new asphalt & it was wet. Just coasting into a parking spot made it bind.

Me too. I've driven Samis with welded rears on the street quite a bit with no issues.

Change it all.
Nothing spoils a trip faster than damaged stuff you knew you should change but played cheapskate. And now it is broke and you friends get to laugh at you while they drag your broken junk to the trailer.

That's always been my theory too. Sad but true.

Hi-9 website says $525 for replacement gears.
