1980 Jeep CJ7, $5000
Anyway, I've been stewing over this for a while and have realized I like building more than I like wheeling. As a result, I've decied its time for my CJ to find a new home. The first two pics are basically what it looks like now:
This pic is basically just to show the winch...
Here is the details
1980 CJ7 (with title)
304 V8 (truck avenger carb, DUI HEI dizzy)
TF999 Auto tranny
Dana 300 case
18" frame stretch
3 linked front end with 16" travel airshoxs (Johnny Joints, they are huge)
Dana 44 front end (factory flat top knuckle from a 74 International Truck, as I recall its 83" at the tires)
Dana 60 rear (full float)
38.5 SXs that have 2 runs on them and 0.1 road miles
The entire rig is really low usage. I think I only wheeled about 4 times, like I said, I really enjoy building more than wheeling.
You can see a build thread here, with more pictures: http://porc.purdue.org/Forums/viewtopic/t=5017.html
Anyway, there is some bad, I've stripped the teeth off the flexplate using a crappy autozone starter. There is one bolt hole in the torque converter that was stripped when it got assembled, and if that bolt comes out, I don't think it'll ever go back together. The grill busted a hydro hose, so that needs to be replaced. The sheet metal is sharp edges most of the way around. The cage still needs more tube (which I have). The steering really needs to go full hydro since the frame rail can't survive the 38s; I have a hydro steering unit from a forklift waiting for it.
The major parts I can add up to about $5,000, so thats what I would like to get out of it. If you are looking for an almost all there project, its right for you. I can deliver for some gas $$ via trailer from Lafayette, Indiana.
I don't really have a trade list all figured out, but I can think of plenty of things that would be fun. A factory truck of similar value, firearms, quad (auto tranny: Honda Rancher ES, Polaris, etc...)
I'll get back here daily for the next couple weeks, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
