I need my sewer line video'd, anyone know a good complany to call local to livonia to hook me up?

I would like to see what kind of shape it's in. It's an old house and my neighbor had her line dug up and replaced so it's got me wondering.

$200 is a fair price. Watch out for commissioned salesman too. They will try to sell you everything.

9 Mile rental (in Warren) rents a sewer camera for about $125 (2 hour minimum/overnight rate). You can hook it up to a VCR or a TV/VCR to record what you see. It does have its own monitor as well. Easy to use, black and white camera.
It also has a seperate unit available to detect the location of the camera head. Ground sonar of sorts.
You locate a problem with the camera, then go out side and locate where the problem is. It gives you depth as well.

Pretty slick set up.

Interesting what you see down there.

Call the rental places in your area, some have them, most do not.

I was thinking the same thing

If you are just looking to see what shape it is in, this would be the best route to go

If you know there is a problem then I would call in a pro, since main drains can get into BIG job's

dirty clothes......beer kegs....small animals....

Actually there were some roots (130 year old house), but the major problem was a lot of sludge/grease build up. Over time soaps and stuff leave residue and them old pipes grab hold of it. Many soaps and chemicals in the house are made from animal fat and lard....and leave deposits.

So I got $400 worth of chemicals for free too!

More tax dollars at work.....finally

I wouldn't bother with it unless you have evidence of an issue.

Call a regular drain cleaning company and have them run the larger snake from either inside your house or from the first cleanout to the street. Unless they pull out root or hit an obstruction, I wouldn't worry about it.
