Default Camp Jeep 2008 cancelled?

There is a banner for Camp Jeep summer '09 on Jeeps site. Am I the last to hear about this? Anybody know why this year's is no going to happen?

Yup but it's not just the off road part. they like all the other activities like the kids tent and stuff. I think a trip to the UP is going to be on the agenda instead.

He doesn't know what he is talking about. Last year was one of, maybe the biggest, turnouts at Camp Jeep ever. And gas was around the same price. He doesn't understand what Camp Jeep means to some people.

With the way the economy is right now most poeple I know couldn't afford to take there family and do that for a weekend.

The Camp jeep people realized this, plus what ever it would cost them to haul all the stuff around and set it up week after week.

A lot of peopl in Michigan are not even sure if they are going to have a job next week, there sure as hell not going to spend $2500 bucks just to say they went to camp jeep to climb a rock wall and get a tee shirt.

I think the price for Camp Jeep was pretty reasonable, granted I went with friends so we split the cost. $245 registration and 3-4 tanks of gas divided by 4 people isn't bad. The campground charged us $70 or so dollars for the week, we usually took up 2 spots and had 10-12 people on our sites. The cost would go up if you were taking your family, but I dont think it would cost more than any other vacation.
