this thread reminded me that my 18 volt ryobi multi-tool set's batteries are no longer holding a charge. sounds like I'll have to head to the depot for my birthday Sunday. :)

thats funny right there.. since black and decker makes dewalt..

past 5-8 years i would say dewalts quality has gone down hill..

im quite surprised by home depots ridgid line of tools.. also the favs.. makita small hand drills, bosch just about anything..

yes i will be replacing the pos dewalt (they arent good enough to have 2 cap letters in there name) with a ridgid
dewalt has been junk for more then a few years

to be honest its hard to find any tool of quality from anyone out there
most tools are made for the average joe use it once and let it sit kinda guy not for people that actually use tools on a daily basis

I had a dewalt angle grinder come apart inside and more or less catch fire after 2 months. The replacement has been holding up for 2 years now but the bearings are going out in it.I won't be getting another one of that brand.

I have a makita (sp) been running strong for about 5 years now, it's just the 4.5" one but it's been a great little grinder!

used a black and decker that was a nice jigsaw and the ryobi cordless we had at work wasn't bad either except the fan didn't clear the cutting path of sawdust on either. never used a dewalt, though the saws all and drill my boss had were rather nice. some of the toolless blade holders suck, some are better than the screw type *shrug*
