Default i hate best buy

i need help. i have a 37" philips flatscreen that i bought about a year and half ago, and it is dead. I bought the extended warranty so i figured everything was good to go. This is how the scenario played out.

I called best buy the 800 number and told them it was dead - they told me that they would be there on friday, this is a tuesday about 3 weeks ago. They also told me they would be there between 8-12. The company that was coming out is called abl electronics. At noon i called because nobody was there, my wife stayed home so she could meet them. I got no where w/ best buy so i called abl electronics and they basically said sorry see you on monday.

Monday comes and they actually showed up this time, so they have to order a "main board" they were there for 5 min

next wednesday they call and they have decided to order the parts but they are in japan so they will call when they come in.

This tuesday - the 8th - they call and the parts are in so they are coming out on friday to fix it.

They came out today and imagine that the "main board" didnt fix it - it needs a new lcd panel which is what i told them 3 weeks ago but im an idiot so what do i know. The best part is the repair guy tells me that he just ordered what usually goes wrong w/ that tv...so why the hell did i have to wait over the weekend at the begining of the saga for him to come to my house and guess?

I just talked to best buy - the repair guy wont submit his estimate until monday because that is the next business day - after that it will take 2 more days for the extended warranty to decide to order parts or replace the t.v.

Can anyone tell me why i bought an extended warranty?
Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to get my tv fixed...i miss it

Stop messing with Best Buy and they're sorry ass support. That is not a "timely fashion"

File a report here:

http://easternmichigan.bbb.org/WWWRo...4-8aaf1d0795a9

File it against the store, and it defaults to their main office. I had to do this last year, and my issue was resolved in 10 days.

as you can see, best buy HATES having BB open complaints, and most customers are satisfied with the result:

http://www.mnd.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=7663

I refuse to purchase anything from best buy due to their nazi like return policy.

They suckered you in to it with FUD.

In my experience the manufactures warranty is sufficient.

i would have taken it in to best buy and make them fix it in the store. 37" aint too big to do that.

I went through this with a car amplifier years ago with them, they ended up refunded the prorated amount of my warranty and I ended up with a bad amp.

I now go to circuit city and to this point I have been lucky/satisfied.

My boss also had some problems with best buy.

I tried to buy some stuff at bestbuy in auburn hills yesterday, but none of those stupid fucks knew the answers to any of my questions.

So I went next store to Staples and spent $1,000 :tonka:

They are planning on writing bestbuy a thank you letter.

I hate their return policy, but I had good luck with their warranty. I usually don't buy warranties out of principle, but I did this one time for a laptop. Close to the expiration of the 3 years warranty, my kids obliterated the keyboard and destroyed the lcd screen. Actually only one line of pixels wasn't displaying at all.

I took it to Best Buy. They guy told me when the screen goes, they usually don't fix it, they will replace it. They called me a week later telling me to go and pick a new laptop. So the one they let me get was actually twice as nice as the one that broke. I was a happy camper.

I always get the policy on car radios. The sales guy in the dept even swears by it. In a jeep it goes out at least every 2 years at best and you bring it in and they replace it because the model is discontinued usually. Not bad paying $40 for a 4 year policy that basically exchanges your radio for you. I'm on my 3rd now.

I bought a Samsung DVD player a couple years ago from Best Buy, and the POS died on me, wouldn't power up. Problem is, I had a Blockbuster movie in it. I tried everything to get the drawer open, but it wouldn't budge. I called Samsung and they gave me an address to send it to to be repaired, but it'd be a few weeks. Drove it over to Best Buy, they took it in the back and 'liberated' the disc for me. I asked them how they got the drawer open and the guy just kinda grinned. That was the Best Buy in Flint. He told me to go over and grab a new one.

I have never had a problem with extended warranty. Called about 3 times. Usually had the problem resolved over the phone and the ordered a crap load of parts to show up with.

Mine is almost up 6 years later - which reminds me I need to make a call.

x2. Always get it on laptops with the accidental damage policy. Especially if your hard on it. OH...don't forget to get the policy on DDR Dance Mats either. :tonka:

Good idea for the radio Lothos.

Manufacturer's will make the tech replace their supposition of which pc to replace before the big dollar panel nearly all the time. Now take an insurance company selling the extended warranty and you can see the added delays.

Done with Best Buy, even though the extended warranty has worked to my favor many times now.

I sent my D200 to Nikon for repair, even though I still had a BB warranty on it I would rather pay the factory for what I thought was a minor repair. Nikon came back with a $250 estimate so I requested the camera back and sent it in through BB. They claim it was "unrepairable", but they would be happy to exchange for equal or better...problem! at the time they didnt carry the D200 (or D300)...they would give me a Canon..yeah! I have a couple thousand in Nikon lenses that wont fit. After weeks of yelling and calling everyone under the sun the best they could do is give me instore credit. I listed the instore credit on Craigslist for a couple hundred less, and just as I was about to go get it some random guy called and told me they were getting the D300..did I want that? I basically got a free D300 but they were more than willing to stick it to me. Now, for every purchase I make some where else I mail them a copy of the sales slip. F'em!
