So this guy I work with thinks he can drink 10 bottles of wine...

in 24 hours.

It came up randomly in a conversation, and I bet him $100 that he couldn't.

The rules:

Any wine of his choice, he chose Pinot Grigio, probably something cheap like Sutter Home. He can eat/drink anything else of his choice, and even sleep. He just cannot puke.

I did a little math:
  • 4 glasses of wine per bottle x 10 bottles = 40 glasses
  • 40 glasses / 24 hours = 1.666 glasses per hour.

What are your thoughts? Even if I lose, it'll be worth $100 to watch him try

Yes. 6 oz of wine is a standard glass and is equal to a 12oz beer, or 1 shot (1.25 oz of 80 proof liquor).

Yes I say it can be done depending on the person. I drink 2 liters of jim beam on a good night........But 10 beers will destroy me. Depends. That hangover wouldn't be worth the money though.

24 hours is no big deal, I drink wine quite a bit. Not as much as rum, but, I've drank 3-4 bottles in a night (4-5 hours) without being stupid drunk. If he eats, he is all set, considering he is no beginner to drinking

Your so full of shit. Im the only guy that can drink that much liquor (Crown Royal) in a single setting, and I'm the only guy that can't drink beer.
beers and I have the hangover from hell, Fifth of Crown and it's buisness as usual the next morning.

10 bottles of wine in 24 hrs Thats a sucker bet, most 12 year olds could do that.

You're in Belleville...which is 5 minutes from me.

I bet you $100 that you can't drink 15 bottles of wine in 24 hours (Upped the drinkage since you're so confident.)

Doing that math, that's only 8 1/3 beers in an hour and a half period if you're doing 1 oz. shots. That doesn't seem very hard, when Hacksaw will put down a 24 in an hour. :tonka:

You upped the wine by 50% and the money by nothing, but yeah I could drink that in a 24 hr period. I think it sounds like more then it is. If you just sit around you can drink 2 drinks, or glasses an hour and not get loaded so if you drank just a little harder I believe you could do it in 24 hrs and not even get wasted. I'm not a big wine drinker but I have smashed a feww bottles.

I was in Newfoundland a few years ago and they had a beer drinking contest over a 24 hour peroid. They counted how many cases of beer you drank, I was surprised by how much more they drank then I thought they would.

Yes it would be. Or at least if I tried it, it would be the first time that I got paid for my hangover. . .
