I don't have a TIG, but what are you looking to have welded and why wouldn't MIG suffice?

If you get your MIG set up right you can get some pretty welds.

no need to TIG that unless you want the practice. any competant (sp?) welder can make a nice clean mig bead that is plenty strong for an antenna.

edit: if you also want to have someone TIG it on then the joints have to be almost perfect.... 1/8" gaps can't happen or you will see it in the weld.

Why don't you just bolt it on?

I could MIG it for you, just grind it down afterward.

The stack of dimes thing is about tig welding. A really nice bead will look like a stack of dimes layed on its side and spread out just a but, sorta like dominos that have fallen.

go to radioshack and get a mirror mount for a semi truck and bolt it on the inside of that bracket on your jeep, you end up not using the clamp piece of the cb mount and it will hold an 8 ft antenna no problem. no welding required, i can send pics of what i am talking about tonite if you want. heck i thinki might even have a bracket you can have.

I would just bolt on a cb antenna mount. Be done with it, but if you want it welded I am about 20 minutes from Monroe.

No its a trend to make MIG welds look a certain way, because people see them and think they are better than a continuous bead.

Here's what I was taught to do:
