Default My pups

Had the one in back since she was about 4 weeks old, and she's 5 months now. Picked up the front one yesterday from the shelter and think he's about the same age, but we have no accurate documentation.

Anyway, thought it was a cute pic.

Default Good Job

Awesome to see shelter dogs find a good family! We have 2 rescue GreyHounds. Can't imagine paying the money for a pure bread.

The day I see a border collie or a weimaraner at a walmart, I'm taking one!

Auburn hills shelter never has either, I call once a week. I feel crappy buying one from a breeder when they're in the shelters.

There are lots of purebred dog rescue groups if you really want a BC. I know several people who are heavily involved. The reason the BC's and the other purebreds are less likely to be in the shelter is because the breed rescue groups get calls from the shelter and go pull them.

Is that why I can't ever find one? Wonder why the HS didn't just tell me that.

You might want to check these sites:
http://www.michiganweimaranerrescue.com/
http://www.greatlakesweimrescue.com/

Many purebreds have their own rescue programs, rather than having the dogs go to shelters

I love weimaraners myself, I'm going to rescue one as soon as I get a house... Which will be whenever I get a new job after all of this Chrysler IT fiasco...

Because they want you to adopt one of their dogs...

84Scrambler and I play Flyball which is heavily populated by Border Collies. Gotta keep them outta trouble somehow. Lots of Flyball people do BC rescue as well as other types of rescue. I don't know much about Weimeraners so I can't comment on that. We have a couple BC mixes.

Our Flyball club is hosting a tournament this weekend up at the Springfield Oaks Activity Center in Davisburg on Andersonville Road.
