I always thought it was odd that the state allows people to carry a loaded handgun just about anywhere, but I can't own a taser.

The civilian Tasers suck compared to the ones we carry. Don't waste your money. They are so weak that they go off for 30 seconds instead of the 5 seconds ours do. The intent is for you to drop the taser (that you pay $500-$700 for) and run away.:tonka::tonka::tonka: The theory is that the bad guy will just do the funky chicken on the ground for 30 seconds so you can run away and call 911 (or get your gun if you're smart).

A fella could collect alot of Tasers to sell at gun shows pretty easy that way.

Oh, by the way. This bill is getting alot of resistance from the legislators on the east side of the state. I'd be surprised if the Governor ever signs it.

If it passes into law, I see lots of civilians getting charged with felonious assault. I also see cops shooting said civilians who are stupid enough to point one at said cop.

If you are at home a shot gun is the way to go for home defense. There is no better solution than the resounding click click of a shell being chambered in a 12 gage. If you do have to use it, most exterior walls will stop your buck shot. Or slow your shot down enough that it should not cause much damage outside the house.

I have both the 12 gage and a 9mm, I hope I never have to use them, but if I do there won't be anybody to testify against me.

The taser sounds cool, and if it give some women a way to defend themselves against some of the creeps out there, even better.

(if u live in the country) a 12 ga pump is good but IMO a sks is the way to go. just as long but with a 30rd clip in case you miss the first 6 and a bayonett to go. That and if there is a shootout the cops are going to take the gun so may as be a cheap $150 sks v a nice 12 ga. but i live in the city and sitting on my headboard is a .22 revolver

x1.6 billion on the 12 gauge. use a medium target load. it will still destroy the intruder but not go through to your neighbors house. as stated the racking sound alone is enough to turn away pretty much any thug. the only thing worse than hearing that sound is staring down the barrel of a side by side 12ga. oh yeah they'll run.
