Default High Lift Mount in a TJ - Help

For those who carry high lifts, where / how do you mount them? I bought a 48" and tried putting it under the hood. Did not work (hood hit it and started to bend the rad / grill support rods.

Yep, A company makes clamps that go to the rollbar, and holds the hi-lift just like jay's pic shows..

I'm sure someone knows the name of the company

I used a 2.5" muffler clamp on the base side and then I used the fence post tensioner on the other end with a long bolt that goes through it.

Is there any other options out there? I wanted to be able to get back there easier. How about a vertical mount, floor mount, etc? Really don't want to hang it from the bumper...

As long as it's the 48" variety. I think the 60" is too long

i did this as well...

a 60" though would have to be external... unless you take the base off and the jacking part and just mount the rail outside.

I ended up using SonicJay's suggestion and bought the clamps. I ended up putting this foot first onto the top of the fenderwell as far rearward as possible, then the head of the lift was secured to the top of the roll bar about mid-cabin. Seems to work really well there, won't get corroded and is out of the way too.

Thanks for the suggestions all

Why in the hell do you need a 60" Hi-Lift for a Jeep on 31's?

It wont actually fit between them, it will go behind them, the studs that it mounts to are long.

I took the base off of mine, threw it in the tool bag. The bar/handle/rachet fits nicely between the rear bars of the roll cage. I may have used inferior hardware, though - mine came from Lowes not Home Depot.

the left side of mine is a muffler clamp, (murrays) the holes in the base fit on there like a holder, the right is a tension band for a fence from HD

Funny thing is I used to work for depot, went to Lowes for the first time the other day. I think I liked it better
