Smile Looking for Opinions...

I have to set up a mobile office for myself, which means I am going to need a wireless card thingy for my laptop, a way to send and recieve faxes, and a way to print invoices.

ALL of this must be able to happen in a truck :tonka:

I have a couple AT&T accounts, and the company uses Nextel or Sprint or whoever they are today. Who do you recommend I get my internet service through?

I need good coverage in the Port Huron area, and all over the rest of Michigan, Ohio, and New York.

If I have to get a different provider for better service, that's not a problem.

How do I get set up to send faxes out of a truck

I had the internet fax service before... But haven't they made wireless fax machines yet???

I dont know. Help please.

If you have internet, you can set up E-fax. They have a service where you can send and receive faxes... receive through email, sent through like MS Office.

AT&T and sprint both offer cards for your laptop to allow wireless connectivity. All it takes is money!

Above poster is dead on with e-fax

Go with e-fax....also if you're looking for a good laptop/printer mounting system for your truck...check out this company. Good mounts for low prices. http://www.ram-mount.com/

My sprint card has worked everywhere there is typical cell service. It has surprised me quite a few times with a broadband connection where I figured it wouldn't.

Nextel/Sprint sucks in Port Huron... I use Verizon in that area all the time. I have a buddy that uses one of their wireless cards at his house in Goodells with very little issues.

I would recommend the Verizon AC595 aircard (Sierra Wireless) for CDMA EV-DO wireless broadband access.

my brother uses verizon. he's a contractor for shell oil, and is routinely compiling and uploading/updating web-applications on the go with his laptop. he even gets pretty decent throughput/connectivity in the mountains around Asheville, NC where he lives.

He doesn't travel the midwest very much, except for when he comes to visit us, and has never had an issue in our area at least.

The child should be named after his/her father though, don't you agree?

not sure exactly how e-faxing works, but if it uses a scanner, you can buy a portable scanner/printer

pretty sure Canon use to make one that ran on a battery, and was like 5"x15"x4"

You should double check with the provider and make sure you can pend service during your maternity leave.
