the 80gb were pulled I believe. Since the ps3 can be upgraded to any drive size. So, if you're looking for the ps2 capable one, its discontinued.

Rumor has it there will be a firmware update soon to allow all the ps3's to be able to run the ps2 disks.

I was just at the Auburn Hills one also. They are all 40 gig. There is supposed to be a download later this summer that will allow you to play PS2 games on a 40gig PS3.

The memory is upgradable on the 40 gig?

the hard drive on ALL ps3's can be upgraded. It's nothing more than a 2.5" SATA drive.

Sam's Club on Gratiot and Masonic in Roseville said they had them. All there is is a bunch of cards out front though. I didn't actually ask if they had them. I noticed because they were like 500 and i had seen PS3s going for 399. Turns out the 399 dollar model is the 40G.

So I can go get the 40gig, upgrade the memory later if I want to and still have PS2 capabilities once the down load is available? Is there any reason to wait for the 80 or 120 gig? I would like to buy it from Best Buy for their financing options.

IS THIS ALL TRUE????

That is true.

However, you should not finance a PS3. Buy one when you can afford it.

6 months same as cash. It's like borrowing it until you can afford it.
