Default How not to fix a broken tow strap!!!!

I was a little amazed at this today. I didn't see it in use tho'. Only saw the truck move once and this wasn't the strap he used. So I never talked to the guy about it.

That is just plain retarded.

Even a Harbor Freight strap would be better than that.

What sarcasm? Duct tape would be better than a 4"x6" steel plate.

I look closer at the loop wear and KNOW that the steel will be a projectile soon.

Even if it's 3 feet. Bad idea.

Can't decide if it's sad or funny that it's painted to match the rig.

x 2 but the sad part is that who would get hurt is someone who prolly had nothing to do with this inbred jackass's backwoods fabracation and would die because he thinks he knows how to fix a strap...........the proper way would be to fix it rite into the damn garbage truck

yep, true.

If you confronted him about it he'd probably tell you something about "I'll take my chances" but it's going to be the poor sap at the other end of the strap the dies.

It's just like having improper tow points. They don't endanger you, they endanger the other guy. I have forcibly removed someones tow point once. fortunately it hit my spare tire and bounced away.
