I would think do to the poor sales of hummers and the military pretty much on the end of using them as well would want the proven seller jeep name. I don't see them removing the jeep name from existance. not gonna happen. perhaps if gm bought jeep we would get some of the stuff we want in jeeps that chyrsler is too pussy to put in.

My dad said more people are leaving his group now and moving on to different jobs within Chrysler instead of with Jeep.

Yes, that's been making things very frustrating for me. Those moves were not limited to Jeep. Many people on the Truck side have either been eliminated or reorg'd. It stalled progress on some of our programs for months at the last cut because they eliminated entire org chains. On a couple of our products, the Chrylser Release Engineer got let go by their Supervisor, the Supervisor got let go by their Manager, and then the Manager got let go by their Director (or whatever is over him) all in the same day.

I know that when I worked there in 2001 when they axed tons of people, that after they were gone, it didn't seem like peoples workload really was affected.

I'm sure they'd just love to dump that old westinghouse plant. Hell, I'd love to never have to go back to the ghetto down there..

This is without a doubt the worst thing that could ever happen to Jeep

GM would fcuk it up just like they did with the Hummer. Just another name stolen to stick on their half assed shared platform garbage.

As long as they don't put IFS in the Wranglers it should be good for Jeep....

Damn straight. Ditch the shitty minivan motor for a 3.6 V6 and an aluminum 5.3. That'd be nice.

If Jeep can withstand all the years under Chryselr and DCX, they can withstand GM management.

Before the ink was dry on the papers that solid front axle would be gone. They'd have a Theta, Lambda or GMT300 chassis under it in a blink.

I don't like the idea at all, then again I didn't to much care for the idea of benz coming and taking over as well, and clearly I think benz is to blame in this one since they sold to what is basically a clearing house. It will be a sad day if this is the case... oh well its that or the indian's...

I wouldn't group the Commander in with those. Its the equivalent to an AMC FSJ, which didn't take off as wheelers until they were around for a long time. I've seen a Commander built up down in Milford and I thought it vastly improved the vehicle's appearance, as well.
