Default Hello there

Thought I would say hello.

Recently moved back from Buckeye Country.

Pretty much built the truck from 4 others. Any questions on 40s give me shout.

1970 Body and frame, 75 2f, 4 speed, Jim C Carb, Q78 swampers, 4 inch BDS. Confer Shackles. Bikini Top. Blah blah blah. 8274 pretty soon.

nice to see ya. Not too many 40s around here, Brimy's is 1/2 mini truck :tonka:

How do you like the Q78s? Out of curiousity, what ithe total running height on those?

I'm thinking those would be nice on my (toy min drivetrain) flatfender project rattling around in my head..

I like them pretty well. The height on the tape is about 35". They are mounted on FJ 60 rims, which are 8" wide. I have not done but a few laps around the block here. The truck has been a 4+ year build, I just got the plates before I moved.
Gotta put some new seats in it and work the bugs out.

The tires are becoming harder to find. IIRC they stopped making the 78s a few years ago. Also IIRC they were the swampers with the deepest amount of tread. but that may be BS.

They are more or less tied for the deepest. The 34x9.5s are also that deep, as are the 44" boggers.

I ran the 34s on my last Jeep, love them..

I've got a couple sets of 6" wide stock toyota rims I'm saving in case I run skinnies again..

LOL, I had armstrong steering for years...

If you are looking for a push-pull power steering box from a 85 toyota(which my understanding is thats a good setup to convert the TLCs to power), I have 3 of them going on ebay soon...
