I'm actually going to call you out on this. You just completely contradicted your arguement here.

You say earlier that Being a Christian "causes" you to be harmful, but then when confronted with facts about athiest leaders, you say that being associated with something (Athiesm or 4x4s) does not cause you to be anything...

Therefor either your first statement about religion and Christianity is false, or your later statement about association leading to causation is false. They can't both be right.

You say you don't need religion to have morals. Ok, You can think that.

However,
Quote:
"Using the bible for evidence of creation. That's like me writing a book and quoting it to prove that I'm right."
A society that writes it's own laws with out guidance from a supreme being is any different how? I'm not saying that you can't be moral without God. I know plenty of people that are Athiest and are completely moral. I'm saying that once you start writing your own laws you could (in theory) do anything you want. Also, most morals you have are Christian/Theist based. If you don't want to admit it that's ok. I'm sure your parents, or grandparents were taught it from a Christian stand point at some time.

I never stated that being a christian causes you to be harmful. I said that these people following their religion caused them to be harmful. do you deny this?

the thread is currently titled: "religion is NOT harmless"

there are countless thousands of people that are denied access to life saving treatments for many ailments at many ages for any variety of reasons. this is just one that happens to be somewhat correlated in a fashion for you to use as flame bait for your anti-theist soapbox.

I will also add at this late juncture, that your chosen source is the virtually always inflammatory fox news, and the way the story was written via 3rd party sources. citing police interviews rather than an actual interview with the parents. hardly a credible way to really infer the full scope of the situation, or their beliefs

I took the 15 seconds to look up the "cause of death" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diabetic_ketoacidosis

Symptoms and Signs
  • Sluggish, extreme tiredness.
  • Extreme thirst, despite large fluid intake.
  • Constant urination
  • Fruity smell to breath, similar to nail polish remover or peardrops.
  • Hyperventilation, at first rapid and shallow, then progressively deeper and less rapid.
  • Extreme weight-loss.
  • Oral Thrush may be present, or/ yeast infections that fail to go away, this is because the normal fungal/flora present in oral cavity/cervix in women, the balance is upset and bacterial began to feast on the high sugar from urine output/ dry mouth from extreme thirst.
  • Muscle wasting.
  • Agitation / Irritation / Aggression / Confusion

Late signs

At this point, DKA is life-threatening and medical attention should be sought immediately.
  • Emesis (vomiting), although this is not always a sign of late-stage ketoacidosis, and can occur both in early-stage ketoacidosis and in non-ketoacidic hyperglycaemia.
  • Confusion.
  • Abdominal pain.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Flu-like symptoms.
  • Lethargy and apathy.
  • Extreme weakness.
  • Kussmaul breathing ("air hunger"). A type of hyperventilaion where patients breathe very deeply at a normal or reduced rate. This is a sign of severe acidosis.
  • Unconsciousness (diabetic coma) after prolonged DKA. At this stage, speedy medical attention is imperative.
not knowing if she suffered from any, or all of these - I would submit that many of these symptoms are pretty non-specific, and/or easily attributed to other maladies to a non-expert. even those trained in the medical profession frequently misdiagnose their patients, and even themselves.

as but a recent example, a neighbor of mine is a consulting pharmacist. she had what she thought was just a flu bug for a week. she ended up with a very serious case of bacterial pneumonia, and sepsis 10 days in the ICU, and very obnoxious anti-biotics for at least the next month out of it...

I have a true first hand story. This dosen't justify not seeking medical help but Mikesova can have a blast with it. My sister in law across the street was diagnosed with lung cancer, she lasted about a year and died then about 6 months a go the other sister in law was diagnosed with kidney cancer she lives down the street she had her kidney removed and is O.K. then about 4 months ago the neighbor behind us was diagnosed with lung cancer see got more than one opinion and mutiple tests. She went into a praying spree and when she went and was opened up to remove her lung they couldn't find any sign of cancer or anything wrong with her at all. The doctors had no explination as she had numerous tests and more than one doctor that told her the same thing, you definetly have cancer. You will have a hard time telling her there is no God and that prayer is bullshit, because she has her proof it's real.

For me things like this are what piss me off about the scientific community. More than one so called expert was completely wrong, or God does exsist and this is proof. Either way scientists to me just got knocked off their thrown again.

You have said being a Christian is harmful on multiple occasions. You have said it regarding teaching, wars, and governing. If we all disected this topic and debated it piece by piece we would agree on most of it.

The title of the thread is: Religion is NOT harmless. And you imply in many posts that Christianity in specific is harmful. So yes, I do accuse you of contradiction and an inability to debate correctly.

So far, you have used circular reasoning and multiple contradictions to make your point. Thats why so many people jump all over your posts. If you made well thought out and logical arguements, then other than debating facts, there isn't much we could rip on you for.
