?????? Someone must need this! Make a stroker out of it? The head alone is worth a big chunk of this price!

So you think if the rear main was replaced it would be a drop in and go motor?

I really don't know - hate to say yes as I never drove the XJ this motor came out of.

I bought it solely to get the tranny out of, didnt really worry about the condition of the engine. The guy I bought it from he had bought it to get the transfer case, - and had been told it had been a good running vehicle, then got where it simply would not start. The PCM and various odds and ends were replaced with no luck. It sat for several months by the time I bought it. I towed it home about 50 miles in the middle of the winter, at around 20 degrees, stuck a battery in it, checked things over a bit - and after simply wiggling around the shift lever (I had a hunch it might be neutral safety switch), it fired up rather easily. Of course it ran rough and rather loud (no exhaust was on it), but there were no bad noises from the engine at least.

Soooo.... you might be in good shape, you might not.... My original plan was to keep it to build a stroker out of... now dont get me going on that idea...I may keep it! (and the wife would boot me out of the house!).

I am going to be traveling up to hillman (just a stones throw away from Atlanta) to go camping the weekend of the 26th of july. I can bring it down to the Chelsea area on the 27th. I will also be posting this soon in the transportation forum.

Some fuel money needed (can talk about that one later)
