Default 1978 CJ7 Build (almost done)

Well I have been working on this jeep since last June and finally it is only a few weeks from being done. I got this Jeep back in april 2007 and drove to school for 3 days and decide that I need to take some huge step to make it truely road worthy. So since the I've dumped about $3000 into it and that got it a custom tub, 4" super lift, 33" BFGoodrich with Turbo rims, Very nice clean frame, completly new brakes system minus the porportioning valve, new hardware, paint job that I did myself, fenders and tailgate that were in better shape that the originals. And a bunch of little things that were worn out and/or broken. Oh yeah and my very own bumpers, very nice.

She started out having no brakes, rust holes all over, flinstone floors, but a very awesome running V8. I'm curious on the actual miles it has. But here are some pics of it.

Day one.

Before teardown.

Starting the teardown.

Building up

More current pics

Lots of pics and probably a few more once I hit trails up here in and around harrison.

Looks great! You have to get some sort of "reviving the 'most gone' tub award" for that one. Nice job.

lol thanks when we torn the tub off the frame I cut it in half with a sawzall and took it off in to big pieces. It was pretty bad but now its pretty good we'll see how she holds up.

What did you do for the frame? Did you replace it or patch it?

I had a frame that came with the jeep that was in awesome condition so I used that one, Just put a couple coats of Chassis Saver on it and it looks spectacular.

Nice work, that's one of those Jeeps that most people wouldn't bother with. Kind of like my XJ, but seriously, nice work.

I was confused aobut the frame, too. I was looking for big patches on the frame or some box tube fixes but it looked so clean.

Looks good.
