Default Rights!

It is your right to buy the biggest baddest truck in the land and you can drive it anywhere you want, even to work, everyday, 300 mile round trip.

It is my right to make fun of you when you complain about gas prices.

Tab,

the last few fillups have given me less that desirable results...i've been getting about 26-27 mpg. Keep in mind, though, that the gas is winter blend and i've been starting it and letting it run 5-10 minutes in the morning. I've been searching the focus forums and from what I can tell, I really need to change my fuel filter, supposed to do this like every 20 thousand miles and I'm sure it's never been changed, so hopefully that and summer blend will get me up to low to mid 30's. That will make me happy. The performance is pretty decent too. For a really great miser, I'd look at a first generation Neon(normal 35 mpg), personally. I really like the way the focus handled though and I wanted a newer car, so that's what I went with.

You mean Hafer Hardware? Yeah, I've heard all about it, my folks have the same salesman as they do. Non deserving bastards...:tonka: They're getting millions from Walgreens, while my folks are scraping by...ahh well. money doesn't buy happiness, right?

P.S. How'd you know I worked there?

I know more about you than you know! Actually I'm (was) the Forney rep for that store. I dont think we've met I just know you worked there. Wheres your dads store? I'll be getting a newer car this spring (under 9000) and the focus was on my short list. Although it looks as though it doesnt get much better than I'm getting now in my 99 avenger. I get around 26 now and want around 30-35 to make it more worthwhile spending the money on a different one. I would like a vw tdi but the cost way too much with 100,000 on it already.

I had to go out and buy a beater Honda because I couldn't afford to drive my 89 GMC diesel pickup. My car is only getting 27-33 mpg but it is carburetted. I'm hoping the milage goes up a little in the summer.

I do about 40,000 miles a year so I need a newer ride as I'll have it used up in 4 years or so. The older cars get great mileage but give up some in safety. I'll trade a few mpg's for a safer car since I dont care for driving a car anyway.

haha, that's great. Those people are oh so deserving of that money don't you think

My folks own the hardware in Lakeview, Cantwell's Hardware. I think our salesman's last name is Williams.

The fueleconomy.gov's rating for the 1st gen focus is 30-31, although i've heard of people getting 35, but I'm not sure how accurate that number is. Test drive one, they are definitely fun to drive, especially on twisty roads.

Not that I'm suggesting these but the dealer I was talking to last night was telling me people are walking out with brand new Aveo's for less than $7,000 with rebates on them...
If I was in the market I would be looking for a couple year old Vibe. Kim's GT hauled butt and got 30+. And it had tons of storage.

i thought about vibes too, but I liked the looks of the focus better, too much black plastic stuff riveted on the outside. It would be a lot cooler if they offered the Vibe in a 5 spd AWD, but it wouldn't get as good mileage. I think they are probably comparable with storage capability.

I think we are weak when it comes to the economy. Our Gov and Pres cant stop or help this war we are all in..

Gas Prices are just the start.

Look around you everyone is moving where there is Jobs soon they will all run out then what are we to do.

Houses are being Auction out but not to many Buyers people are not going to Buy when they dont have any money or Jobs..

Also the price for Gas is the Start Look at what we pay for other things???

Like

Food
Services
Homes or Rent
Cable
phones
electric
your health

and ect.......

its all going up nothing to Stop it at all

Is it my right to drive the biggest baddest fuel sucking monster I can get my hands on and make fun of you when I pass the fuel costs on to you.
I hope fuel goes to $10.00 a gallon.
I'm thinking of stepping up from the F350 I drive everwhere for no other reason than I like a truck to a 450 or 550.
