I n 1987 gas was about .87 cents/gal. I could fill up my moped for .50 cents, drive from Owosso to Burton on 1 tank. Now, it would cost about $1.45 or so to fill it up. sucks. But maybe I should get a moped...

I remember buying offroad diesel for about .75$ a gallon back in prolly 95ish.. back when the boss would hand me 20 bucks and tell me to fill up the 4440 and get myself lunch on the way to the field.. the last summer I worked he had a 25k fuel bill

Gas was around a buck ten when I started driving *legally* if I recall correctly.

I paid 4.19 for diesel this morning

1976 - about $0.35 - $0.40 a gallon (OH didn't allow self-service gas stations yet). Before the 73/74 gas crunch we paid $0.29/gallon for regular for dirt bikes.

I remember in the mid 70's my dad tossing me a dime and telling me to push the lawn mower a half mile to the corner Texaco to fill it so i could cut the grass. 59 to 69 cents a gallon.

I remember $.97 a gallon. Back when I had my truck with a 34 gallon tank, and I did not know how I was going to pay to fill it up.

I paid 26 cents a gallon for my first car's gas. I remember only paying 19 cents a gal when some of the stations were competing.

Yah, the 73/74 gas crunch started the shortage that started the price climbing. Muscle cars died out and small cars (Rabbits) bred like crazy and were everywhere.
