I dont remember what it was the first time I bought it, but I recall paying $.78/gallon when I first started driving, probably sometime around 93-94. By the time I was buying diesel it was I think $1.70-ish

1990
.89/gallon
$1.50 for a pack of smokes.
$20 for a bag of weed.

we bought gas for our boat at the station in 5 gallon cans and brought it home to avoid paying $1.25 at the marina. We'd blow through 10 gallons a day all summer.

Had a Geo Metro xfi in college. for $15 I could fill it up, get a pack of smokes and a 12-pack of shitty beer for the drive.

lol... Rabbit diesel was my first car. I can still remember putting in $1 worth of fuel and being able to make it home and back to town a few times. I even managed to get a speeding ticket in it... Harder to do than you might think.
